Conference prediction: “Harlan lost only two seniors from their (28-8) state runner-up team,” Birchard said. “We hope to jump into the mix of the top teams.” He said Lewis Central won the conference last year at 17-3 and returns talent including pitcher Caleb Shudak. St. Albert was 24-13 and returns standout Travis Miller. Pitchers Ryan Hawkins and Brendan Holmes lead a strong Atlantic team coming off a 21-13 season.

We’ll have a target on our back and, we’re going to step up to the challenge of defending it.”
