Emery and Niva Jean Newlon were married Jan. 12, 1957, at St. Catherine Church in Prophetstown. They are the parents of Mike (Sylvia) and Drew (Becky) of Prophetstown and Brent (Renee) of Lexington, South Carolina. They have eight grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and one greatgrandson.

Stillson & Fisher Thomazine Nicole Stillson, daughter of Mr. Randal Stillson and Ms. Thomazine Stillson of DeKalb, and Bradley Richard Fisher, son of Mr. Charles and Mrs. Carol Fisher of Dixon, were married on Oct. 8, 2016. The ceremony was at Barnacopia in Polo, on a beautiful fall day, with the Rev. Matthew Rogers officiating at the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Shannon Haile-Gifford and Rebecca Miller, both as matron of honor. Patrick Hamilton and Matthew Schrock shared the title of best man. The bride works as a banker in Sycamore. The groom works as a journeyman lineman for Local 196 out of Batavia. The couple honeymooned in Jamaica, and reside in DeKalb.

Meyer & Ward April 2, 2016 Kayla Meyer and Ethan Ward of Westfield, Indiana, were married on April 2, 2016, at Dreams Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A stateside reception was May 28, 2016, at the farm of the bride’s parents in Hinckley. The bride is the daughter of Bryan and Sara Meyer of Hinckley. The groom is the son of Mark and Brenda Ward of Prophetstown. Serving as maid of honor was Sophia Sopuch, cousin of the bride. Serving as best man was Karl Miller, friend of the groom. The bridesmaids were Dr. Meghan Ward, sister of the groom; and Johnna Humphrey, Maggie Nagle, and Bethany Stapel, all friends of the bride. The groomsmen were Luke Larson, Kaleb Pruemer, and Adam Cross, all friends of the groom.

Ushers were Davis Espe and Rhett Espe, cousins of the bride. The bride is a 2009 graduate of Hinckley-Big Rock High School, a 2012 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education, and a 2014 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a master’s degree in elementary education. She is a third-fourth-grade teacher at Zionsville Elementary School in Zionsville, Indiana. The groom is a 2009 graduate of Prophetstown High School and a 2013 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. He is a research associate in swine nutrition at JBS United in Sheridan, Indiana. The couple enjoyed their 2-week honeymoon in Europe.

The couple went on a honeymoon to Boston and Bar Harbor, Maine. The couple reside in Rock Island, Illinois.

Jack Briggs officiated the ceremony. The bridesmaids were Kayla Murphy, cousin of the bride; and Kate Hartmann, Caroline Williams, and Dianna Donahue, friends of the bride.

The groomsmen were Sean Manfredonia, Kyle Manfredonia, brothers of the groom; Luke Murphy, Blake Murphy, brothers of the bride. The couple reside in the Quad Cities area.

Share those special memories with Celebrations Celebrations features weddings, engagements, anniversaries, and other happy news, such as birthdays, reunions, and fouror five-generation photos. As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, halfor full-page announcements can be purchased. Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page. Those paying for announcements will have the opportunity to proof them before publication. Customers will be called when the announcement is ready to be proofed. At that time, any corrections or additions can be made as needed at SVM’s Dixon and Sterling offices. For convenience, proofs will be emailed without calls whenever possible. Photos may be submitted in color or black and white, and in any size. Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality. All announcements can be printed without photos if desired. Celebration forms are available at the Telegraph and Daily Gazette classified departments or by email. Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable information. A daytime phone number and email address (if available) are requested to help to ensure accuracy. Weddings are available in basic (free) form (one photo only of the couple), quarter-page paid (one photo), half-page paid (two photos), and fullpage paid (up to four photos).

The wedding form should be returned preferably within 2 to 4 months after the wedding date. Engagements are available in basic (free) form (one photo of the couple), two styles of quarter-page paid (one photo only), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos). Anniversary announcements are available in the basic (free) form (one current photo only of the couple), quarter-page paid (one or two photos), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos). Announcements beginning with the 25th anniversary, and then in 5-year increments up to 60 years, can be at no charge. Other increments will require a paid announcement. Anniversaries from 61 to 69 can be published in the free format without the 5-year increment restriction. Special wording will require a paid announcement. Anniversaries of 70 years and more are at no charge in a paid format; the announcement size will be determined by the editor. Birthday announcements for area seniors 80 years of age and older can be at no charge without special wording. There is a charge for those younger than 80. The basic (free) form (one current photo of the individual), quarter-page paid (one or two photos), half-page paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos) are available. For 100th and older birthdays, SVM will publish free announcements in a paid format; the announcement size will

be determined by the editor. Reunions are for area residents who are gathering, or have gathered, for a family or class reunion. Reunion items will be edited due to space limitations, and lists of all those attending are not available in the free format. Photos also are not available for a free announcement, but can be used in any of the paid announcements. If a large group photo is submitted, only one can be used in the quarter-page format, one photo is recommended in the half-page format, and up to four normally can be used in the fullpage format. Large group photos with long lists of names may require at least a half-page paid announcement. Note: A group photo for a class reunion only can be submitted at no charge for the Scrapbook page of SV Weekend by email to photos@saukvalley.com or in person. For publication in Celebrations, class reunions of 70 years and more will be available in the quarterpage format at no charge, with a photo allowed. Five-generation and four-generation photos with names, relationships, and places of residence of those pictured may be submitted for publication. Multiple photos from the same submitter will need to be on a paid basis. Generation announcements are, of course, available on a paid (custom) basis in quarterpage (one photo), halfpage (two photos), and full-page (up to four photos) form.
