89th Annual Jaquet Family Reunion The 89th Jaquet family reunion for the descendants of Christian and Elizabeth Jaquet was Aug. 28, 2016, at Nims Park in Rock Falls. A potluck dinner was served. The business meeting was called to order by President Craig Dimmick I. A candle of remembrance was lit for deceased family members, with a prayer by Gloria Williams. The secretary and treasurer’s reports were given by Sandra Jaquet Miller. Alma Bohm, 93, was the oldest female family member; Brenden Hoagland, 5, the youngest; and Paul Jaquet, 61, the oldest male family member present. Officers for next year include Paul Jaquet, president; Karen Collier, vice president; and Miller, secretary-treasurer. Those attending were from Tonica, Princeton, Rochelle, Peoria, Galva, Mount Carroll, Walnut, Rock Falls, Sterling, and Springfield, Missouri. The 90th reunion will be Aug. 27, 2017, at Nims Park in Rock Falls.

As a special way to preserve these memorable occasions, quarter-, half- or full-page announcements can be purchased. Paid announcements are determined by word count: no more than 125 words for a quarter page, no more than 250 words for a half page, and up to 340 words for a full page. Those paying for announcements will have the opportunity to proof them before publication. Customers will be called when the announcement is ready to be proofed. At that time, any corrections or additions can be made as needed at SVM’s Dixon and Sterling offices. For convenience, proofs will be emailed without calls whenever possible. Photos may be submitted in color or black and white, and in any size. Emailed photos should be in JPEG format with a resolution of 200 and a width of at least 5 inches for best quality. All announcements can be printed
without photos if desired. Celebration forms are available at the Telegraph and Daily Gazette classified departments or by email. Sauk Valley Media is not responsible for errors due to unreadable information. A daytime phone number and email address (if available) are requested to help to ensure accuracy. Weddings are available in basic (free) form (one photo only of the couple), quarter-page paid (one photo), halfpage paid (two photos), and full-page paid (up to four photos). The wedding form should be returned preferably within 2 to 4 months after the wedding date. Stencil & Dempsey Married Aug. 20, 2016 Camp Rotamer, Janesville, Wisconsin Jessica Stencil, 27, and Cooper Dempsey, 26, both of Dixon, were united in marriage Aug. 20, 2016. The ceremony was held at Camp Rotamer in Janesville, Wisconsin, and officiated by a friend of the bride and groom, Teresa Cecchetti. Jessica is the daughter of Joseph and Cyndee Stencil, and Cooper is the son of Jerry and Lisa Dempsey. The maid of honor was Mimi Wilson, college friend of the bride. Bridesmaids included Jessica’s sisters, Jaymee Stencil and Jenifer Frye, along with longtime friends, Marissa Frost and Chelsey Dever. Brother of the groom, Logan Dempsey, was Cooper’s best man. Groomsmen included Stephen
Tucker, Timothy Grobe, Dexter Hollis, and the groom’s cousin, Dilan Dempsey. The groom graduated from Dixon High School in 2008. Cooper works for Dempsey and Sons Construction and Walmart Distribution Center in Sterling. The bride graduated from AshtonFranklin Center High School in 2007, and went on to study graphic design at the Illinois Institute of Art, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Jessica works as a graphic designer at Balcom-Vetillo Design in DeKalb. After their honeymoon in Punta Cana, Jessica and Cooper will reside in Dixon.
