Our mission
is giving our vulnerable children Support, Opportunity, and Hope by breaking destructive cycles of poverty, abuse, and neglect through community partnerships. Children’s Fund provides Support to children by meeting emergency needs requests from case workers for rental and utility assistance, beds and refrigerators, food, clothing, and other basic needs. Opportunity is given to foster and former foster youth, and other vulnerable children by giving them the chance to break the cycle of poverty with education. We offer them scholarships to local universities and colleges, and we fund mentoring programs at two universities to ensure they have the emotional support needed to stay in school. We give Hope to the abused children who are brought to the Children’s Assessment Center, where they find treatment and a gentle hand to hold. There is hope that we can break destructive cycles by funding and promoting proven prevention programs. Last year, Children’s Fund provided more than 66,215 services to children in need throughout San Bernardino County and beyond. Since its inception, we have facilitated more than 1.7 million points of service to children and families.
Thanks to the West End and Bonnes Meres Auxiliaries, children at the Children’s Assessment Center and throughout our community receive handmade fleece blankets as a reminder that someone cares.
Children’s Fund was founded in 1986 by the Honorable Patrick Morris, the late Jack H. Brown, and late Co-founder A. Gary Anderson. Today, we carry on their vision of a bright future for every child. The 28th Annual Children’s Fund Golf Classic and Founders’ Award Banquet will fund our important work and allow us to reach even more children in the future.
Children’s Fund just celebrated the 31st Celebration of Giving—an annual toy drive for the county’s most vulnerable youth. Last year, over 43,000 gifts were collected and distributed with the support of our donors and partners— Spark of Love, County of San Bernardino, and local nonprofit agencies.

The Founders’ Award is given to a person or organization that holds the same values, commitments, and dedication to the vulnerable children that our Founders held 34 years ago.
Last year, Children’s Fund provided 2,732 kids with new beds and bedding for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Last year, Children’s Fund provided 225 scholarships to San Bernardino County youth attending college, university, or trade school. Most of the youth are foster/ former foster or homeless youth. In addition, we provided over 55 high school senior “grad packs” which provided students with items such as a cap and gown, a yearbook, grad night tickets, a class ring, or a dress for graduation.

Mack, the Old English Sheep Dog, is a therapy dog at the Children’s Assessment Center. He helps comfort the over 2,000 children seen there each year for alleged physical and sexual abuse.
