Leslie Koenig-Stack ’74 Commencement Speaker

Leslie Koenig-Stack was born in Richmond and attended St. Edward’s School. She always wanted to attend Saint Gertrude High School and her dream came true in 1970 as a member of the proud Class of Baby Blue and White. After graduating from Saint Gertrude she attended VCU and continued with advanced courses at Virginia Tech. Leslie Stack is currently a Special Event Consultant to a select group of corporations, individuals and nonprofits. Prior to starting her first company, she was employed at the Downtown Club of Richmond as Assistant General Manager. This education helped pave the way to creating Complete Catering and Event Planning Services in the heart of Carytown in 1987. Following in the footsteps of her entrepreneurial father, Edward Nott Koenig BHS ’43, the business grew quickly and she started LKS Enterprises, which included an expansion of real estate and specialized equipment. She sold Complete Catering in 2008, retaining LKS Enterprises. Since selling her catering business, Mrs. Stack has worked with many nonprofits to originate annual Richmond community events that are still thriving. These include “Savor: A Delicious Way to Make a Difference” for The Doorways, “Envision” for Saint Gertrude High School, and “A Night on Grace Street” for Historic Richmond to mention only a few. Her passion for event planning has generated millions of dollars in donations for these nonprofits. She considers The Rule of St. Benedict that was taught to her by the Benedictine

Sisters at SGHS to be a legacy that is engraved onto her heart. In 2002, Mrs. Stack was the honored recipient of The Distinguished Alumna Award at the Tuckahoe Woman’s Club. Mrs. Stack has served on the Board of Directors for The Doorways (formerly the Hospital Hospitality House) and the Saint Gertrude Board of Visitors. She was the Capital Campaign Chair for the Outdoor Athletic Center (OAC) for SGHS. She also served on the Richmond committee for the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia’s Capital Campaign. She is currently on the executive committee of the Council of Historic Richmond and past co-chair of Historic Garden Day 2022 for the state of Virginia. Mrs. Stack served on the transition leadership team to unite SGHS with BCP and create the Benedictine Schools of Richmond. She was then elected to the first Benedictine Schools of Richmond Board of Trustees, a position she will hold through June 2024. She is also an Honorary Co-Chair of the current Capital Campaign for SGHS on River Road. Mrs. Stack has recently been elected to the position of Vice-President of the Council of Historic Richmond 2024-2025 that will include a seat on the Board of Directors of The Historic Richmond Foundation. Leslie is married to Frank Rizzo. Their combined family includes Charles Rizzo (BHS ’93), Kathryn Stack Consuegra (SGHS ’96) and Leslie Rizzo Ibanez (SGHS ’98). Leslie and Frank have six grandchildren: Allison (SGHS ’22) and Brian Consuegra of Richmond, VA; Anna Grace Rizzo of Cary, NC; and Teresa, Laura, and Eddie Ibanez of Severn, MD.
