CEO Report

Do you ever feel like some projects just take forever? I feel that way today! I want to update you on so many things but most of them are still in process and not close enough to completion for me to report on. The following projects are still in the works: We are getting a water feature and a sign at the intersection of Heritage and Bethany. Northwood is getting a new sign and new landscaping out front. We are installing new signs at the intersections to direct traffic to main buildings. The wrought iron fence is being painted and chain link fence needs installed along the creek. Parking is being added in front of the chapel and near 3053 Maranatha Lane.

Our master plan project is fully underway. I will be announcing over the next couple of months meetings that will require input from volunteer residents. These meetings will focus on our future from the perspective of a resident living on campus. I will announce these meetings with plenty of notice, so be watchful if you would like to participate.

I know that most of you have heard our advertisement on either KADI or KWFC radio. It is a lot of fun to do these, and they have been extremely effective. But I am sure that some of you listen to this and have had one of these thoughts enter your mind: ā€œI wonder if he/they have ever thought about saying ā€˜blank’ about Maranathaā€ or ā€œI think it would be wonderful if this ā€˜blank’ was mentionedā€ or possibly ā€œI think he/they should let people know about ā€˜blank’. If that is you, I want to hear from you. These advertisements get updated about every 4-6 months. We will be developing a new radio spot this winter and you may just have an idea that would work perfectly for the Maranatha radio spot. Send me an email or stop by my office. I would like to know your idea.

MV CORK BOARD

THANK YOU

I would really like to thank all the wonderful people of Maranatha Village for the many expressions of love, prayer, and strong concern during David Drake’s many months of illness and his passing into the arms of Jesus on October 7, 2024, exactly two months before his 99th birthday. I cannot tell you how encouraging and uplifting these have been to us Drakes. Thank you and God bless you each one! I will continue with you in fighting the good fight of faith with daily commitment and loving service to the great God who continues to be ALL we really need from day to day!

-Sandy Drake and Family

A BIG thank you to our Maranatha friends and prayer warriors for all the prayers, flowers, food, and visits over these last months while I have been mostly homebound. You have kept me encouraged and hopeful. I just finished my clinical rehab but will still need continued support. God has been faithful. Blessings to each of you!

HarvestHayrideHistory

Hay rides have a rich history rooted in agricultural traditions and community gatherings. Originating in rural America during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, hay rides were initially practical means of transporting people and goods across farmlands. Farmers would use horsedrawn wagons filled with hay to carry workers, especially during harvest seasons. Over time, these rides evolved into a popular leisure activity, particularly during autumn when communities would celebrate the end of the harvest with festivals and fairs. The hay ride became a nostalgic symbol of simpler times, evoking a sense of camaraderie and connection with nature. Today, hay rides are a beloved tradition, often featured at pumpkin patches, Halloween events, and fall festivals, providing

ALLABOUTME

I have been at Maranatha for almost two years. The best part of my job is helping the residents. I am a Southern man from Arkansas City, Arkansas. I come from a family of 18 kids of which I am the baby! My wife and I have been together 31 years and married for 14 of those years. We have two sons that are 31 and 24. I also have two older daughters. We have a 13 year old Yorkipoo that runs the house and is spoiled rotten! I enjoy music and love time with my family.
