CEO Report
Happy Fall! This is my favorite time of year. Cooler temperatures, morning dew-covered lawns, brightly colored leaves falling are just a few of the reasons Fall is so enjoyable. This fall, Crosscut will again collect the falling leaves from the lawns. They will likely attempt to do this with two different mowings. Both mowings will be determined based on the volume that has fallen early and how it appears when the majority of the leaves are out of the trees.
There have been no notable updates to mention this month concerning the future of our campus. We continue to meet the architects and engineers bi-weekly in discussion regarding our next steps. The city officials have met once regarding our Zoning and will be meeting again to discuss making changes to our present zoning. This will be necessary due to some restrictions that would prohibit a couple of projects we have planned for our future. I am asking for your continued prayers as we decide what is best for Maranatha.
As you may well have guessed, financing any of our future projects will place a burden on Maranatha. Though I truly believe God has directed me to begin planning for our future, we will not begin any project until we have been released to do so by God. The board and my team agree on this fact. Financing may be the avenue to secure a loan, but I believe it will be through an exhaustive capital campaign that we will be blessed by individuals like you reducing that burden. I would ask you to consider making Maranatha a beneficiary in your estate. There are many avenues of giving to Maranatha including: Qualified Charitable Distribution, Charitable Remainder trust, Charitable gift annuity, Charitable Bequest and Donor-Advised fund. Each of these has different benefits. Please speak with your personal advisor to determine which would be best for you. I am praying that God place giving to Maranatha on your heart today.

MV CORK BOARD
THANK YOU
An appreciative shout out to all my Maranatha friends who have stood by me in prayer for my total shoulder replacement surgery on September 11. The surgery went well, but the recovery has been slow, painful, and still in process. The Lord willing, I do plan to make a comeback and return to more activities before long. So thankful for the care I received at Premier Rehab for three weeks and in my daughter’s care through the end of October. God is so good!

PumpkinPie PumpkinPie

Pumpkin pie's history at Thanksgiving can be traced back to the early American settlers and their interaction with Native Americans. The pumpkin itself is native to North America and was a crucial food source for Indigenous peoples long before European settlers arrived. When the Pilgrims celebrated what is often considered the first Thanksgiving in 1621, pumpkins were likely part of the feast, although not in the form of the pie we recognize today. The modern version of pumpkin pie emerged in the 17th century when settlers began adapting traditional European pie-making techniques using locally available ingredients. By the 19th century, pumpkin pie had become a staple of Thanksgiving celebrations in the United States, symbolizing the autumn harvest and the blending of Native American and colonial culinary traditions. Today, it continues to hold a cherished place on the Thanksgiving table, beloved for its rich, spiced flavor and ties to American history and culture.

ALL ABOUT ME
I have been at Maranatha for coming up on 19 years and work as a Maintenance Supervisor. I enjoy my job especially helping and seeing the residents.
I have an older sister, Debbie, and a younger brother, Danny. I have built my own house that I now live in, on 3 acres with a pond out front.
I like restoring older classic cars and trucks. I also love spending time with my black Lab, Miss Hope, who most of you know, who rides around with me here at work.
