Has the rain finally ended? Itâs amazing that the grass is SO green for mid-summer like it is. I was told that April and May have been the wettest months on record, so I looked it up. I found these facts very interesting: April 2025 rainfall was 100% more than the average rainfall in the last 30 years. May 2025 rainfall was 61% more and June was 50% more than the last 30 years. Now I know why the water feature has taken so long to install and why we are still mowing lawns at the end of July!
Did you notice we had all the dead trees professionally removed last month? With so many dead trees in close proximity to buildings, we felt the need to go with a professional service. We used a company out of Camdenton MO. They did an excellent job and were able to save us thousands of dollars compared to other bidders. Thank you, Lord!
UPDATE: The master plan is still an active project. We are currently reevaluating several key factors such as building locations, building sizes, and phasing of projects. This is an attempt to keep the cost of construction as low as possible. I donât expect our Board of Directors to make any decisions regarding ETA of starting for several more meetings. Keep praying for the future of Maranatha.
UPDATE: The purchase of 15 acres adjacent to our Northeast property line should be completed this month. There have been a lot of hurdles in division of the larger plot so that we could acquire our part and the housing development can get their part. We now believe the city has made their final approval of the deal, but the closing date is still pending. We are 100% sure this will take place.
AG General Council is this month. Pray with me that we make many solid connections and referrals for housing during this trip to Orlando. I, along with my wife, Beth, and Chaplain Oberg, will be traveling and representing Maranatha Village to the whole AG faith. Pray for our safe travels.
Brian

The "dog days of summer" refer to the hottest, most sweltering part of the season, typically spanning from early July to mid-August in the Northern Hemisphere. This phrase has its origins in ancient Rome, when people believed that the period's intense heat was caused by the star Sirius, known as the "Dog Star," rising and setting with the Sun. While the celestial phenomenon no longer coincides with this timeframe due to changes in the Earth's rotation, the phrase endures as a poetic way to describe those long, sticky days when the sun blazes relentlessly, urging many to seek solace in the shade or by the water. Traditionally, these days were also associated with lethargy and discomfort, but they also offer the perfect opportunity for enjoying summer activities like picnics, barbecues, and lazy afternoons spent with friends and family.
