The rumors are true. Maranatha Village IS purchasing 15 acres of undeveloped land. The parcel of land is located on our East property line that runs from the creek to the North. We do not have any immediate intentions of developing the land. However, we thank God for allowing us the opportunity to purchase it. The seller mentioned to me that he had always intended to sell a portion of the larger parcel to Maranatha Village and was delighted when we responded affirmatively to the purchase. This parcel of land will provide a great buffer to us from the large housing development taking place East of the highwire easement on over to North Vernon Road.
COMING SOON - I have a vision to provide âin-home servicesâ here on campus to our residents. This will be a new service made available to residents of Maranatha only. We are in the very beginning phase of development and are working on our policies and procedures as well as determining which offerings to make available. If you are currently receiving services from a local provider and are willing to discuss what services you are currently receiving from them, it would be very beneficial as we plan our new program. Again, we are only in the development phase of this new program and are looking for individuals who could add insight or experiences to help us write our program.
Have you considered adding Maranatha Village to your Will or benevolence giving? We always have projects, big and small, that you could help with. Prayerfully consider this.
God Bless.
Brian

Thank you, Maranatha Village, for the beautiful flowers I received while I was in the hospital. They were a bright spot in my room. Thank you, too, to all of you who have called, visited, sent cards, and especially those who have prayed for me. I am getting stronger and able to do more things. I would appreciate continued prayers as it sounds like surgery is in my future. The love and support here at the Village is a great treasure.

Watermelon, a quintessential summer fruit, is beloved for its refreshing taste and high water content, making it a perfect treat for hot days. Watermelon holds a significant place in various cultures around the world, often symbolizing summer, refreshment, and community gatherings. Originating from Africa, watermelons have been cultivated for thousands of years and have spread globally, becoming a staple in many regions. In Asian cultures, particularly in Japan and China, watermelon is not only a popular summer fruit but also a part of traditional celebrations and festivals. In Japan, the art of shaping watermelons into squares or other forms has become a unique cultural phenomenon. Furthermore, watermelon seeds are considered a snack delicacy in several Middle Eastern and African countries, often roasted and salted. The fruit's vibrant pink or red flesh is sweet and juicy, often speckled with seeds, though seedless varieties are also popular. In many parts of the United States, watermelon is synonymous with summertime picnics and barbecues, often served in wedges or as part of a fruit salad. Besides being delicious, watermelon is packed with nutrients, including vitamins A and C, and antioxidants like lycopene, which can contribute to heart health. Its versatility is another highlight, as it can be enjoyed on its own, in salads, smoothies, or even grilled for a unique twist. Whether you're at a picnic or a barbecue, watermelon is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.
