XCPA’s Incoming Chairman Jason Freeman, JD, CPADallas, began his term in June when TXCPA kicked off the 2021-2022 Society year. As a CPA, trial attorney, law professor and author, Freeman is the founding and managing member of Freeman Law, PLLC, which is based in the DallasFort Worth Metroplex. Bringing enthusiasm, an entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to his profession, he’s excited about his new role as Society chairman.
Q. You started your own firm before the age of 35. You also serve on the law school faculty at SMU’s Dedman School of Law, where you have taught a course in federal income taxation. Why did you choose the accounting profession and tax law?
A. Funny enough, I knew I wanted to be a lawyer from the time I was a young kid. I wanted to be a trial lawyer. I didn’t have any lawyers in the family, and I’m not sure how or why I knew
