Explore PA with Experience Kits We are kicking off our 2020 Experience Kit season! In partnership with other Allegheny County libraries, we are now circulating admission passes to nearby museums that offer FREE ADMISSION for up to four people!

History Center - currently offer free admission and do not require a pass at this time. We’d like to thank them for their participation in the Experience Kit program and encourage community members to visit their locations!

Experience kits from SPL are checked-out for one week at a time (Wednesday to Tuesday). Starting in September, Sewickley Public Library will be participating in the nationwide literacy program 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten! This program ask parents/ caregivers to read 1000 books to their infant/toddler/preschooler before they start kindergarten. Look for more information in the September newsletter.

FRENCH FOR KIDS (ZOOM) Wed | Aug 12, 19 & 26 | 4-4:30pm Kids get a chance to practice their French speaking skills in our online discussion group! Join Anne-Marie Salih, a native French speaker, to practice your French conversation skills in this virtual discussion group. Best for ages 6-10 with a basic knowledge of the French language. SPOTLIGHT MUSEUM STORYTIMES Enjoy special virtual storytimes with local museums & historic sites! Representatives from each museum will read a stories that will introduce children to local history in a fun and engaging way. SUMMER TRIVIA CHALLENGE Weekly | June 1 – August 7 Want to challenge your mind and win a prize? Take part in our weekly 20 question trivia challenge. Enter each week’s challenge beginning on Monday at 9 AM and ending at Friday at 4 PM. The player with the highest score wins a $10 gift card to a Sewickley area business, or if multiple participants get all 20 questions correct the winner will be chosen randomly from those with all the correct answers.
