Director’s Message

Nick Horton

Dear Colleagues,

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful holiday season and are feeling refreshed as we step into 2025.

This year promises to be another exciting one for Select Lifestyles. We’ve recently been focusing on leadership development, with training programmes underway for many of our managers and staff. These efforts are aimed at creating positive changes across the organisation, and I’m confident you’ll start to see the benefits in the months ahead.

Our business continues to grow steadily, with more clients joining us and placing their trust in the care and support we provide. This is a testament to the fantastic work you all do every day to make Select Lifestyles a trusted name in the community.

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment. You are the backbone of this organisation, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished together.

Let’s make 2025 a year to remember, filled with growth, positivity, and success for all.

Kindest regards,

Keeping Up with Select Lifestyles

At Select Lifestyles, we prioritise training and compliance as they directly influence the quality of care we deliver to our clients. We are proud to celebrate the success and dedication of our teams in maintaining up-to-date training. Congratulations to the top three locality areas for their outstanding achievement in completing their training!

Exit Interviews:

We're introducing a new Exit Interview form to gather valuable feedback from staff who are leaving us. While we don’t like to see anyone go, we understand it happens—and this short form will help us learn and improve for the future.

Service of the Month Award

We are introducing a Service of the Month award to recognise outstanding teams based on criteria such as training completion, minimal incidents, timely audits, and evidence of supporting service users' independence and activities. Winning services will receive an award, certificate, and possibly a small prize. Awards will be presented monthly and displayed in each location.

Carebeans – Wellbeing: How are you feeling today?

Historically, Blue Monday has been regarded as the "most depressing day of the year," falling on the third Monday of January (20/01/2025). Over time, it has become associated with low energy, sadness, and a lack of motivation. However, rather than accepting this idea, many have used the day as a reminder to pause, recharge, and focus on self-care.

Check out our blog to learn tips on how to cope when you’re feeling down: https://selectlifestyles.co.uk/how-tothrive-this-blue-monday/

In Loving Memory of Adam Pugh Sept

It is with heartfelt remembrance that we honour Adam Pugh, a beloved client who brought so much joy and kindness to everyone at John Street. Adam was part of the Select Lifestyles family for many years, and his warmth and spirit touched the hearts of staff and fellow clients alike.

Adam’s memory will always remain with us, and we are deeply grateful for the time we shared with him. As we reflect on his life, we celebrate the smiles he brought and the lasting impact he made.

You are truly missed, Adam.
