KWED Holiday Food & Toy Drive MOVES to Guadalupe County Courthouse (Seguin) -- The annual KWED Holiday Food & Toy Drive is on the move. The event, slated for Friday, December 5, will shift to the front of the Guadalupe County Courthouse on East Court Street in downtown Seguin. The drive has traditionally been held outside the radio station at Court and San Marcos streets, but organizers decided to relocate the event this year to provide a better experience for donors, performers, and volunteers. KWED General Manager Darren Dunn says the new location will help the growing event continue to flourish. “We had outgrown what we could do at the radio station property. There were so many people involved, including kids
from the Seguin and Navarro school districts. We just need more room for the entertainment and special guests that morning. We also wanted to make it easier for folks to make donations. This move will allow all of that to happen,” said Dunn. KWED has partnered with the Christian Cupboard and Blue Santa for years, and Dunn says the mission remains the same: brighten the holiday season for families across Seguin and Guadalupe County. “We’ll again be taking new unwrapped toys for Blue Santa, plus non-perishable food items for the Christian Cupboard. Monetary donations will also be collected that morning. Drive, pg. 2
