Marion High School honors top graduates of the Class of 2026
Cindy Aguirre-Herrera
(Marion) -- The Marion ISD has announced the top two graduates for the Marion High School Class of 2026. Those being recognized are Valedictorian Brianni Morales and Salutatorian Kaitlyn Rackley. Morales says her journey to the top academic rank began shortly after she transferred to Marion High School from San Antonio during her freshman year.
“When I came to Marion my freshman year, I didn’t have any intention of making my way in the ranks,” said Morales. “But by the first semester, we had gotten our ranks back, and I was number three. And when I saw the three, it just motivated me to make it as number one. So, I have been fighting for it for a while.” Marion, pg. 3

Pride Fest discussion draws large crowd to Seguin City Council meeting Darren Dunn
(Seguin) -- There was no shortage of opinions expressed during Tuesday night’s Seguin City Council meeting, as a packed house of residents turned out to weigh in on a proposed Pride Fest scheduled for October 31 at the Seguin Coliseum. The event, which celebrates the LGBTQ community, is being planned by the nonprofit Riverside
Pride group. The item was not on the council’s agenda, meaning there was no discussion among council members, but that didn’t stop a steady parade of residents from stepping forward to share their opinions. Some spoke in favor of the event, while many, including Lynette Leanox, spoke against it. Pride, pg. 3
