Guadalupe County Sheriff announces recipient of INAUGURAL AWARD Early morning crash claims one life Cindy Aguirre-Herrera
(Seguin) – One person was killed early Sunday morning following a twovehicle accident on State Highway 46. Sgt. Deon Cockrell with the Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash was reported at 5:15 a.m. in the 5900 block of Highway 46 just south of Link Road. He says preliminary investigation indicates that a Dodge Ram 1500 traveling southbound on State Highway 46 traveled into the northbound lanes
and reportedly struck a Ford Fusion head-on near the Las Brisas subdivision. As a result of the crash, he says the driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Dodge was transported to Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. Also arriving at the scene were deputies with the Guadalupe County Sheriff ’s Office. DPS officials say the investigation into the accident continues.

(Seguin) -- Support shown from outside the walls of the Guadalupe County Sheriff ’s Office is not going unnoticed. Guadalupe County Sheriff Joshua Ray presented his inaugural Sheriff ’s Award this week. Ray says the award recognizes an entity outside the sheriff ’s office or a citizen for some type of exceptional accomplishment. During the public presentation, the sheriff was proud to announce the award’s first recipient. “Today, we are going to give the Sheriff ’s Award to the Friends of Dogs at Guadalupe County Animal Control. Friends of Dogs at Guadalupe County Animal Control have devoted thousands of volunteer hours to the caring and rehoming the many dogs that have found their way to the Guadalupe County Animal Shelter. The animal shelter remains a high adoption rate and qualifies as a no kill shelter and that is in large part due to the many volunteers that have freely given their time, sweat and compassion towards this effort.
