(Seguin) -- After nearly two years of construction, redesign work and infrastructure improvements, city leaders officially celebrated the reopening of the newly renovated Max Starcke Park Golf Course with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday. The celebration ushered in a new chapter for “one of Seguin’s most treasured recreational facilities. The ceremony included a VIP tournament featuring city and county leaders, elected officials, members of the golf advisory board and longtime supporters of the course. Seguin Mayor Donna Dodgen, City Manager Steve Parker and several others participated in an honorary tee-off to commemorate the occasion. While the public will get its first opportunity to play the course today, June 1, city officials say the weekend festivities offered a preview of the muchanticipated renovation, including the course’s redesigned layout, upgraded infrastructure and new greens. The reopening concludes an approximately $8.75 million renovation
