Navarro ISD students return to class Cindy Aguirre-Herrera
(Geronimo) – It’s back to class today for Navarro ISD students. Students will be returning to all campuses for the 2025-2026 school year. Excited about launching what she believes will be another exciting year is Navarro ISD Superintendent Dr. Mandy Epley. Dr. Epley says today marks the start of a new future for the district. “Everybody has been anticipating what their new school year is going to be – seeing their teachers, reuniting with friends, sharing stories from the summer. It’s an exciting time and with the growth that we are experiencing, we are also excited to see new families and new faces. It’s always that sense of wonder and anticipation and excitement and we are definitely looking forward to day one,” said Dr. Epley. Dr. Epley said that with Navarro ISD’s continued growth, families should expect the first days of school to come with longer lines and slower
routines. “Always in those opening days, patience, grace, deep breathes because we know as we add anywhere from 250 to 500 new students each year, those car pick up lines, the bus pick-up and drop-off, it just runs a little slower as everyone gets in their routine. Know that each day, we are meeting to improve our processes and just take your time. Know that we are all working together to make sure that everybody has the best experience,” said Dr. Epley. She also reminded parents and students that communication is key for a successful school year. “Know that we are here for you. We are a district that believes in partnering with our families and our communities so communicate with us,” Dr. Epley said. “Let us know how we can assist and know that each day after school, we are meeting as a team to talk though what went well School, pg. 3
