Treating Seguin’s hardworking community
WEEKEND EDITION
TODAY
TLU serves up free food, music during Friday night event Cindy Aguirre-Herrera
(Seguin) – Seguin’s hardworking community is being invited over to TLU for a Friday night of free food, music and relaxation. The university, through the efforts of some of its student programs, will be hosting an Under the Stars Pachanga, a free community event. Cèsar Silva, assistant professor and Mexican American Studies Program director, says last year, the event was hosted to help show support for a
community mariachi singer who was battling cancer. This year, he says students wanted to extend that same support to even folks by showing how much they appreciated their daily grind. “We are reaching out to the Seguin ISD bus depot, reaching out Tyson, reaching out to Caterpillar. We are reaching out to people on the construction side. Music, pg. 4
