Accident claims life of man on motorcycle (Seguin) – A 20-year-old man was killed while riding his motorcycle early Wednesday morning near Texas Lutheran University. The Seguin Police Department responded to the motor vehicle crash at the intersection of West Kingsbury Street and Fleming Drive at approximately 6:17 a.m. Officers were alerted that a male on the scene was unresponsive. Upon arrival, officers determined that the man was traveling eastbound on West Kingsbury Street on a motorcycle when it collided with a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The vehicle, driven by a 53-year-old female, was attempting to cross West Kingsbury Street northbound on Fleming Drive at the time of the crash. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the SUV. The man was transported to Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

(Seguin) -- The city is giving Seguin residents a heads up about a community meeting that will focus on a discussion about the creation of a publicly owned and operated recreation and aquatic facility. The city is currently working with consultants on a feasibility study that looks at the possibility of building a community recreation center, which could include swimming pools and lots of other indoor and outdoor amenities. Seguin City Council. Jones says the public meeting will be held in two weeks, and they want as many people as possible to attend. This will be an opportunity for people to share their vision for a new rec center. “We are going to have a community meeting two weeks from tonight at the Seguin Coliseum at 6 o’clock. We are going to have some snacks. We are going to have our consultants coming in town to lead a discussion to determine if a recreational center is to be a part of the future of the city of Seguin.
