was in custody for capital murder. Fadal reportedly had admitted to shooting Anthony Strait, 27 and his wife Tiffany Strait, 30, on Feb. 25, 2018. The shooting occurred outside his mother’s home located on Timber Elm in Guadalupe County.

Former doctor accused of double slaying found unresponsive in jail cell, dies later at GRMC
(Seguin)-- An inmate at the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center was found unresponsive in his cell with a hand-made ligature around his neck. Guadalupe County Sheriff’s officials say Robert Fadal was found by staff during a cell check on Sunday.

The victims, which owned a local landscape company, reportedly went over to the home with their three sons to assist Fadal’s mother who needed help moving some belongings. Later it was reported that Fadal had believed that the couple was part of an “international criminal organization” that was looking to harm his mother in retaliation for discovering that he was involved in some “alleged manipulations of the stock market. Guadalupe County Sheriff ’s Office Investigators and the Texas Rangers have been notified of this incident. The case is currently being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
By Cindy Aguirre-Herrera (Seguin) – Changes in the school calendar could be approved tonight by the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees. Trustees will meet during a special board meeting to discuss and possibly adopt revisions in the school calendar for the 20202021 school year. The original instructional calendar was approved in February and prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those changes could also include the delay of school until Sept. 8. The Seguin ISD’s current state date is Thursday, Aug. 20. District officials, like others across the state, continue to be strung along by the Texas Education Agency as it works to supply districts with continuously changing information regarding polices, safety guidelines and/or other mandates. The changes are being supplied as districts work toward implementing individual plans for reopening this fall amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier in the summer, parents through a Seguin ISD survey, suggested that the district leave the August start date alone and not bump up the

return to school. The option to begin a week earlier was an overall effort to get kids back into the classroom sooner. The district thought that not only could the students have a little more time to catch up but that it could help in providing additional days later on in the semester should the area see a surge in COVID-19 cases. The recent spike in positive cases in the local area and across the state, however, has prompted a new outlook and approach to beginning school. This now has the district as well as others in the area considering a Sept. 8 start date. The calendar is set for approval during tonight’s special meeting, also a Team of 8 Training. That meeting will be held via Zoom beginning at 6 p.m. Although visible to the public, individuals will not be able to provide comments via the livestream.
