Comprehensive, downtown master plans on council agenda TONIGHT (Seguin) -- Citizens will have another chance tonight to weighin the city’s long term plans for the future of Seguin. The Seguin City Council is slated to consider the second and final reading of an ordinance adopting the city’s new comprehensive master plan. The plan focuses on nearly every aspect of living and working in Seguin for the next 20 to 30 years. It also helps to provide a roadmap for the city to accomplish those goals and objectives laid out in the comprehensive plan. The council tonight is also slated to discuss and consider action on a proposed master plan
for just Seguin’s downtown area. This master plan is similar to the comprehensive plan, except that it only focuses on the future of downtown Seguin. In addition to the approval of both plans, the council is also slated to hear a presentation on the results of a feasibility study, that’s exploring the possibility of building a new hotel and conference center here in Seguin. The study includes a market assessment to look at if there was a need here in Seguin and if it could be sustained if built. The council meeting gets underway at 5:30 p.m. today at Seguin City Hall.
