Seguin ISD continues its search for future middle school land Original attempt at property deal fails Cindy Aguirre-Herrera

(Seguin) – The Seguin ISD is going back to square one in its search for land for a third middle school campus. Sean Hoffmann, the chief communications officer for the Seguin ISD, says the district appreciates the feedback recently provided by community members regarding the property at 407 Patricia Park Court. The district was

interested in the 42-acre tract as a potential site for a new middle school. However, due to several variables related to the site, Seguin ISD officials say they are no longer considering the site for a future campus. As reported earlier by the Seguin Daily News, the Seguin ISD assured the public that it would not leave one stone unturned during its

inspection of the property. It was during a pair of meetings that concerns were raised by several residents living in that area. Concerns included easements, flood prone areas and noise levels due to the fly zone of Randolph Airfield. The district says officials will continue to work closely with area realtors and will monitor the market for acreage that can serve as the future middle school location. The ideal site will need to be 40 to 50 acres that is easily accessible. Property owners within the Seguin ISD boundary who may be interested in selling a tract to the district are asked to email sisd@ seguin.k12.tx.us.
