City of Seguin social media campaign earns top honors Cindy Aguirre-Herrera
(Seguin) -- Thanks to Seguin’s social media presence, people all across the state of Texas are apparently keeping tabs on what’s going on in the city and they are liking what they see. The city’s Public Information Office, which under the leadership of Public Information Officer Jennifer Sourdellia, has brought home top honors for its planned media campaign that urged folks to vote in the Niagara “Perk Your Park” Community Outreach contest. Winning the contest landed the city $75,000, which was put towards new equipment at the recently opened Kids Kingdom playground in Max Starcke Park. The award for the media campaign was recently presented to the city at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers Conference. Seguin’s campaign was chosen as one of three finalists and earned second place in the category for Best Planned Social Media Campaign by a city with a population less than 50,000. Honors, pg. 3
