Local kids hope to be riding off on new bikes this weekend Annual Badges, Bikes & Tykes set for this Saturday Cindy Aguirre-Herrera
(Seguin) -- Local kids are invited to come out and play this weekend. Game booths, prizes, and a bicycle raffle are among the featured events for this year's Badges, Bikes & Tykes event. The event hosted by the Seguin Police Department and Seguin Fire Department will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Max Starcke Park. Looking forward to the event is Sarah Wallace, the community engagement officer with the Seguin Police Department. Wallace says the best part of it all is that everything is completely free.

"It's a completely free event. We supply the children with hot dogs and a drink and chips and all of that fun stuff while we are there and we have a ton of free games for them. All the booths at the event will also have free games set up and Seguin Animal Services will have some adoptable puppies for anyone who is interested," said Wallace. Close to 100 bikes will also be raffled off that day. Wallace says being able to host the raffle and allow local kids to see emergency responders in a different light is what the event is all about.
