Golfers from across Texas, the nation in Seguin this weekend

(Seguin) -- Seguin is being inundated with golfers this weekend. Amateur golf members belonging to the Pan-American Golf Association began arriving in Seguin Thursday for the 2024 National PAGA Winter Meeting and Golf Tournament. Toyo Amador, who serves as the group’s secretary, says hosting the event is a prestigious honor. He says the event is bringing in golfers from all over the country. “We have 235 golfers signed up for the weekend. Half of them will bring their wives. There is a number of chapters in the state
of Texas. There’s 28 chapters in Texas. The remainder are throughout the Midwest. We even have chapters in Detroit, Oklahoma City and Wichita, Kansas and we have them all over South Texas, the Valley, El Paso, Odessa -- the Midland area. It’s a strong amateur golf organization. A lot of our chapters, they all award scholarships at the local level. So, this is precisely what we are doing with our national tournament so a lot of the money that is raised will go back into our community in the form of scholarships,” said Amador. Golfers, pg. 3
