City to break ground on new playground (Seguin) -- The City of Seguin’s new playground equipment at Max Starcke Park will soon be on its way up. The city is inviting the community to attend a groundbreaking ceremony to signify the beginning construction of the new playground on the park’s east side on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 4:30 pm. Seguin Mayor Donna Dodgen, Seguin City Council Members and city leaders will break ground to build the inclusive playground. The playground was funded in part by a Niagara “Perk Your Park” grant that community members helped the city secure. City officials say thanks to the community’s overwhelming support during a 6-week public outreach campaign, the city won the $75,000 grant to assist with rebuilding the Kids Kingdom Playscape that was removed from the park last spring due to safety issues.
