Engaging instructional videos introduce and model the correct articulation for each phoneme. Our characters lead pupils through guided practice to identify new graphemes for each phoneme.

Embedded voice and video frames in each activity allow children to easily oral rehearsals of each grapheme.

Formative Assessment Drag & Drop Practice Mode ensures pupils receive instant feedback as they sort graphemes based on phonemes they hear.

Educators can pair automatically marked practice quiz data with pupil recordings to differentiate core and supplemental instruction.

Sound buttons and Voice Frames enable pupils to blend target words for each phase.

Formative Assessment Drag and Drop Practice Mode, using phoneme frames, provides pupils with immediate feedback on their segmenting practice.

Moveable sound buttons help pupils sound-talk, segment and blend longer words with alternative pronunciations for known graphemes.

Seesaw’s Drawing Tools empower children to write one, two and three-syllable words with alternative spellings and new graphemes.

Formative Assessment Drag and Drop Practice Mode supports pupils and educators in building fluency with new alternative spellings.

Phoneme carousel games These engaging literacy games are designed to be implemented during afternoon carousel sessions, breakfast clubs, home learning or other times during the school day to allow pupils to reinforce skills with peers.

Choral whole-class reading practice and ‘Read-with-Me’ activities provide a scaffold towards independent reading fluency. Children practise sorting words from the stories by alternative spellings while building reading comprehension skills powered by Formative Assessment Drag and Drop.

Assessments

Seesaw’s Drawing Tools enable pupils to practise spelling and writing target words from stories. Built-in Reading Fluency Assessments provide teacher insight into pupil fluency to inform essential differentiation in the classroom.

Engaging videos introduce why each word is ‘tricky’ and provide mnemonics to help pupils remember them. Activities include engaging practice to build reading, spelling and writing fluency for individual words and words in the context of captions.

Captions empower educators to engage their class in Shared reading and Shared writing activities, using target tricky and decodable words in sentences. Teachers can model correct handwriting formation before choosing to assign practice to the whole class or specific groups of pupils.

With the renewed focus on handwriting, our Quickwrite activities are perfect to weave into classroom routines to supplement core teaching for pupils in Reception and Year 1.

Seesaw’s Drawing Tools capture air-writing, sand-writing, and other forms of grapheme formation practice.

Instructional videos, paired with Seesaw’s Photo and Video Tools, enable pupils to capture handwriting practice independently or during collaborative afternoon carousel times.

Quick checks, embedded within each lesson, allow teachers and Literacy/Phonics Leads to quickly identify pupils needing additional intervention and extension.

Assessments help educators track pupils’ progress and the development of each target skill. Pupil data can be used to differentiate instruction in preparation for the Year 1 Phonics Screen Check.
