The 2-YR market capitalization loss accumulation of High-Risk Adverse Corporate Events (“ACEs”) for issuers on the NYSE and NASDAQ amounted to $16.16 trillion, an increase of 0.58% relative to February 2026 The aggregate and average frequency of High-Risk ACEs exhibited MoM decreases of 1.72% and 1.85%, respectively. Despite an overall decline in frequency, the findings highlight an increase in the severity of ACEs across eight out of the eleven GICS® sectors, with Financials driving the losses with a 12.7% MoM increase.
Frequency. The majority of GICS® sectors recorded a decrease in the number of High-Risk ACEs relative to February. The aggregate number of High-Risk ACEs declined from 11,577 to 11,378 while the average frequency decreased from 2.49 events to 2.44. Health Care, IT and Consumer Discretionary had the largest drop in frequency with 98, 79 and 66 fewer High-Risk events, respectively. Notwithstanding the decline in High-Risk ACEs, most sectors that recorded fewer High-Risk events experienced an increase in severity. This is indicative of greater market capitalization losses impacting issuers that exhibit High-Risk ACEs.
Severity. The MoM increase of 0.58% in aggregate loss severity is driven by a double digit increase in market capitalization losses in Financials. Losses on High-Risk ACEs in Financials rose from $2.2 trillion to $2.5 trillion relative to February 2026, representing a 12.7% increase. Over the past six months, Financials have shown a persistent upward trend in losses, which increased by 54.3%, as market capitalization declined by 3.24%.
SAR Risk Score®. The median score of constituent issuers deteriorated in eight GICS® sectors in March. Industrials registered the largest deterioration in the median score, rising from 19.3% to 21.6%, an increase of 2.34 percentage points (p.p.). Health Care followed, with its median SAR Risk Score® climbing to 30.1%, the highest median level since July 2025. Having ranked as the second highest risk sector by median score in February, Health Care moved to the highest risk position in March, displacing Information Technology, which dropped to second place.

A -1.0 (improvement) implies a reduction.
