* Call to Worship
One: In Christ, the God of heaven has made his home on earth.
All: Christ dwells among us and is one with us.
One: Highest of all creation, he lives among the least.
All: He journeys with the rejected and welcomes the weary.
One: Come now, all who thirst, and drink of the water of life.
Rev. Christopher A. Henry
Rev. Madison M. VanVeelen
Rev. Thomas P. Markey
All: Come now, all who hunger, and be filled with good things.
One: Come now, all who thirst, and drink of the water of life.
All: Come now, all who hunger, and be filled with good things.
One: Come now, all who seek,
All: And encounter the abundant love of the almighty God.
* Prayer of Adoration
* Processional Hymn #371
Lift High the Cross CRUCIFER
Prayer of Confession
Jesus our Savior, We confess that we often rely on our own wisdom and strength, forgetting that it is by your cross alone that we are saved. We try to find our way apart from you, and we put our trust in things that cannot save us. Forgive us, Lord, for our pride and our self-reliance. Help us to remember that you are our Savior, and it is only through your sacrifice that we find true life. Teach us to trust in the power of your cross, and to live as people saved by your grace.
In your name, we pray. (Silent Prayer)
Assurance of God’s Grace

* Affirmation of Faith Rev. Caroline G. Eader The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
