* Call to Worship Rev. Madison M. VanVeelen
One: Way beyond all journeying, Truth behind all mystery, Life within all living things:
All: We praise you!
One: Salve for every soreness, Mender of every brokenness, Midwife of the new creation:
All: We praise you!
One: Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, Parent, Shelter, Guide, God beyond all names:
All: We praise you!
* Prayer of Adoration
* Processional Hymn #108 Christ Is Alive! TRURO
Prayer of Confession
Loving God, we wish that our hearts were always strong, that our faith was unwavering, that our sense of your presence and guidance was always clear. But there are moments when we cannot see you, when the lives we live are not the ones we hoped for, when disappointment is more familiar than relief. Lord, when we do not know where we are going, we drag our troubled hearts to you. In your compassion, meet us here. And assure us of your promise: that we belong to you. (Silent Prayer)

* Affirmation of Faith Rev. Christopher A. Henry Heidelberg Catechism Question 1
One: What is your only comfort in life and in death?
All: That I am not my own, but belong— body and soul, in life and in death— to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.
Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
Please remain in the Sanctuary following the Postlude for a brief congregational meeting. The Session has called today’s meeting for the purpose of electing members to serve on the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee. This group will guide us in discernment as we prayerfully consider calling our pre-identified candidate, Rev. Audrey Thorne, for the position of Associate Pastor of Children and Family Ministries. A brochure detailing the Whitewater Valley Presbytery’s process for calling a pre-identified candidate can be found in the Sancutary Narthex and Atrium liturature racks.
Following the Congregational Meeting, we invite you to join us in McFarland Hall for a reception celebrating Rev. Audrey Thorne during coffee hour.
