My Lord, what a mornin’ when the stars begin to fall.
Text: Revelation 8:10 (adapted)
* Call to Worship Rev. Karen L. Lang
One: Out of the depths we cry to you, O Lord.
All: Lord, hear our voices; let your ears be attentive to our cry for mercy.
One: If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, who could stand?
All: But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
One: We wait for the Lord, our souls wait, and in God’s word, we put our hope.
All: With hope, we come to worship the Lord, who redeems us from all our sins. Amen.

* Processional Hymn #474 O Splendor of God’s Glory Bright PUER NOBIS NASCITUR
Kyrie Kyrie Eleison (adapted from Symphony no. 9, II) Antonin Dvořák (1841-1904) arr. Ruth Elaine Schram (b. 1956)
Kyrie eleison.
Christe eleison.
Kyrie eleison.
Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Out of the depths, we cry to you, O Lord.
We confess that we have often turned away from you, seeking our own way. When we have stumbled, we have failed to turn to you for mercy and healing. When we have been overwhelmed by our sin, we have doubted your forgiveness and grace.
Forgive us, Lord, for our lack of faith and our stubborn hearts. Help us to wait on you with patience, to trust in your word, and to believe in the mercy that you offer.
In the name of Christ, we pray. (Silent Prayer)

Come Sunday
Come Sunday, oh come Sunday, that’s the day.
I believe that God put sun and moon up in the sky. I don’t mind the gray skies ‘cause they’re just clouds passing by.
Lord, dear Lord above, God almighty, God of love, please look down and see my people through.
I believe God is now, was then and always will be. With God’s blessing we can make it through eternity.
Lord, dear Lord above, God almighty, God of love, please look down and see my people through.

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer Elder Nancy A. Frick
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Invitation to Discipleship and Generosity
Offertory It Is Enough (from Elijah, Op. 70) Felix Mendelssohn Preston Rogers, bass-baritone (1809-1847)
It is enough! O Lord, now take away my life, for I am not better than my fathers! I desire to live no longer; now let me die, for my days are but vanity!
I have been very jealous for the Lord God of Hosts, For the children of Israel have broken Thy covenant, and thrown down Thine altars, And slain all Thy prophets, slain them with the sword. I have been very jealous for the Lord God of Hosts, And I, even I, only am left: and they seek my life to take it away! It is enough! It is enough. O Lord, now take away my life, for I am not better than my fathers! Now let me die, Lord, take away my life!
