As we enter into God’s presence, the congregation is invited to join the Call to Worship in singing or in prayerful meditation .

* Call to Worship Quinn Sundheimer
One: Come, all who are weary with worry, all who are burdened with care.
All: We come to trust in the Lord, who provides for our every need.
One: Look at the birds of the air, the flowers of the field— God clothes them in splendor and feeds them with love.
All: Just as God gave manna in the wilderness, He gives us our daily bread.
One: Seek first the kingdom of God, and trust in His unfailing care.
All: With open hands and trusting hearts, we come to worship the God who provides. Amen.
* Prayer of Adoration
* Processional Hymn #473 For the Beauty of the Earth DIX
Invitation to Confession Harper Sundheimer
Kyrie Kyrie Eleison (adapted from Symphony no. 9, II) Antonin Dvořák (1841-1904) arr. Ruth Elaine Schram (b. 1956)
Kyrie eleison. Christe eleison. Kyrie eleison.
Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Prayer of Confession
Gracious and Providing God, You have called us to trust in You, yet we confess that we are often anxious and afraid. Like the Israelites in the wilderness, we doubt that You will provide what we need. We store up treasures for ourselves, forgetting that You are the source of all good things. We chase after security in things that do not last, instead of seeking Your kingdom first.
Forgive us, Lord, for our restless hearts and our lack of faith. Teach us to release our worries into Your hands, to trust in Your daily provision, and to live with open hearts, ready to receive and share Your blessings.
In Christ, who feeds us with the bread of life, we pray. (Silent Prayer)

Anthem Do Not Be Afraid
Philip W. J. Stopford Sanctuary Choir; Dr. Michelle Louer, conductor (b. 1977)
Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; you are mine.
When you walk through the waters, I’ll be with you; you will never sink beneath the waves. When the fire is burning all around you, you will never be consumed by the flames.
When the fear of loneliness is looming, then remember I am at your side. When you dwell in the exile of a stranger, remember you are precious in my eyes.
You are mine, O my child, I am your Father, and I love you with a perfect love.
Do not be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; you are mine.
Text: Gerard Markland (b. 1953)
Second Scripture Lesson
Sermon
Luke 12:22-31 (p. 949)

“He said to his disciples, ‘Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear.’” (Luke 12:22)
Moment of Silent Meditation
Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer Rachel Everett
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Offertory
In this place I have been made new; I have been gifted jewels beyond price. In this place greater dreams are given. I am made everlasting.
In this place I am light, In this place, in Your sight I am made everlasting.
In Your love, starting and ending; I will be carried softly to heaven. In Your love I am given beauty. I am made everlasting.
You give the strength for me to hold, You are the hope that shines like gold. In this place I am new. In this place I am true. I will fly with angels to this place And be made everlasting.
