* Call to Worship
One: Gather us into your presence, O Lord.
All: Gather us and speak to us your word.
One: Gather us into your presence, O Lord.
All: Gather us and make us into one people.
One: Gather us into your presence, O Lord.
All: Gather us and make us new.
One: Let us worship God!

Kyrie eleison.
Christe eleison. Kyrie eleison.
Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Prayer of Confession
One: Let us pray.
All: Almighty God, you love us, but we have not loved you.
One: We allow doubt’s permanence in our lives.
All: You call, but we have not listened.
One: We fail to trust in your goodness and the goodness of your creation.
All: We walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped in our own concerns.
One: We condone evil, prejudice, violence and greed.
All: We fail to speak peace to one another. We fail to see you in others. We sin in our empty words, broken promises, and silence.
One: God of grace, one who speaks peace,
All: Help us to admit our sin, so that as you come to us in mercy, calling us by name, we may repent, turn to you, and receive forgiveness; through Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. (Silent Prayer)

A Lenten Prayer
Robert J. Powell Carol Choir; Danny Fisher, piano (1932-2025)
Lord, I ask a blessing for my soul today; give me peace from heaven as I kneel and pray. Forty days did Jesus face temptation strong; Give me strength to conquer knowing right from wrong.
Lord, I ask a blessing for my soul today;| give me peace from heaven as I kneel and pray. I would be like Jesus turning from all sin, with his love to keep me true and faithful within.
Lord, I ask a blessing for my soul today; give me peace from heaven as I kneel and pray. When I look to Jesus, he will show the way; help me come to meet him pure on Easter Day.

Prayers of the People and The Lord’s Prayer
Rev. Madison M. VanVeelen
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes
Leo Sowerby Dr. Mitzi Westra, mezzo soprano (1895-1968)
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper; thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil, He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
