The concept of Sequence is rooted in the rule of three, guiding the spatial organization through a rhythmic progression of form and function. The home is divided into served and servant spaces, creating clarity in circulation and reinforcing a hierarchy that supports daily life and performance. Inspired by musical sequences, the design enhances acoustics and ambiance in the served areas, particularly the public living and performance spaces, allowing music to flow, resonate, and elevate the experience
SETTING THE TONE .
FORMED BY TIME.
The Oxidized Steel Railing was custom designed for the Sequence Residence to reflect the home’s core principles of clarity, rhythm, and durability. Built from raw steel and treated through a natural oxidation process, the railing introduces a strong material presence that organizes circulation paths.
Its form follows a simple threepart structure with a base, a vertical support, and a hand guide, reinforcing the Rule of Three that drives the residence’s layout. Durable, low-maintenance, and tactile, the railing defines transitions between served and servant spaces with a focus on performance, structure, and everyday use.
Positioned at key circulation points, the railing subtly guides movement without overpowering the visual language of the home. Its rich, textured finish complements the warm material palette while maintaining a distinct identity rooted in honesty and
Designed for Sequence Residence
The steel used for the railing was locally sourced to reinforce the Sequence Residence’s commitment to regional materials and sustainable practices. By selecting untreated raw steel from nearby suppliers, the design embraces the natural oxidation process over time, allowing the material to develop a unique patina influenced by the local climate. This approach not only reduces transportation impacts but also ensures that the railing evolves authentically within its environment, deepening its
connection to place and reinforcing the residence’s long-term vision for durability and integrity.
The door handle series designed for the Sequence Residence explores the relationship between form, touch, and transition. The entrance handle introduces the home with a strong vertical presence, crafted from oxidized steel and composed of dual rods that reflect the architectural rhythm and structural clarity of the project. In contrast, the pocket door handle offers a recessed, minimalist grip, seamlessly integrated into the surface to preserve spatial flow.
Structure Beneath the Flame.
The fireplace grate is constructed from oxidized steel and shaped by a strict modular rhythm that reflects the Sequence Residence’s emphasis on clarity and repetition. Each bar is equally spaced, allowing for optimal air circulation to fuel combustion while reinforcing the rule of three through its segmented structure.
The grate’s design is both functional and sculptural, integrating seamlessly with the raw material palette found throughout the home. Positioned within the hearth, the piece elevates a traditionally overlooked element into one of intentional craft. As fire activates the space, the grate anchors the ritual with form and durability, resisting excess while enabling performance. time.
The Sequence sink faucet reinterprets a common utility fixture through architectural rigor and proportion. Designed from locally sourced oxidized steel, the faucet’s geometry is reduced to its essential components: base, neck, and spout — an embodiment of the Rule of Three. This tripartite composition brings clarity to the form while ensuring intuitive use, integrating function with an enduring material presence.

Designed to celebrate daily rituals, the vinyl holders are crafted from oxidized steel and scaled to organize and elevate personal collections. Their stepped form follows the Sequence Residence’s design language, allowing albums to be displayed with clarity and rhythm. Each tier reinforces the Rule of Three, creating a subtle visual rhythm that mirrors the spatial progression found throughout the home. Locally sourced materials and natural patination ensure that each piece develops a unique character over time, evolving with use and environment. Positioned near key gathering spaces, the holders invite interaction and add functional texture to the residence’s public areas.
GOOD DESIGN CATCHES THE EYE. GREAT DESIGN CATCHES YOUR COAT.
The Sequence coat racks are minimal in form yet rich in material presence. Built from locally sourced steel and designed around a triad structure, the racks provide a durable and tactile point of organization. Positioned near circulation paths, they reinforce 6’ 23”
following the Rule of Three that organizes the Sequence Residence. Fabricated from oxidized steel, the brewer emphasizes functionality while becoming a physical expression of the residence’s architectural language. As water rises and coffee brews, the object transforms a simple task into a composed, sequential experience rooted in design intention.
SMOKE SCENT ELEGANCE
The Sequence incense burner is designed to bring moments of pause and reflection into the daily routine. Crafted from oxidized steel, its structure balances a circular vessel on three anchored supports, following the Rule of Three that defines the residence’s design
language. Positioned as both a functional object and a sculptural element, the burner reinforces the home’s rhythm of movement and rest.
ELEGANCE
The rain chain at the Sequence Residence transforms the movement of water into a visible, rhythmic element of the design. Fabricated from oxidized steel, the chain captures rain runoff from the butterfly roof, guiding it downward in a controlled and sculptural flow. Each link is proportioned according to the Rule of Three, reinforcing the residence’s design language and creating a sequence of moments as water cascades through the structure. Beyond its functional role in water management, the rain chain enhances the sensory experience of the home, turning rainfall into a layered performance of sound, movement, and texture.
