TOURNAMENT RULES
GENERAL
The competition will be conducted under USGA rules.
FORMAT
5 Flight of 10 Teams will make up the 50-team field.
Rounds 1 will be Better Ball using Stableford scoring with 85% of the playing handicap applied.
Round 2 will be Modified Alternate Shot using Stableford scoring with 60% of the low handicap index and 40% of the high handicap index being applied.
NET STABLEFORD POINTS
Double Bogey or worse: 0 points
Bogey 1: point
Par 2: points
Birdie: 3 points
Eagle: 4 points
Albatross: 5 Points
HANDICAPS
The maximum handicap index is 30.0. The handicaps for the event will be the player’s 6-month low handicap.
TEES
All competitors may select their tee of choice, however, whatever tees you declare on day one is the tees you must play from for the remainder of the tournament, including the playoff.

TIES FOR FLIGHT WINNERS
In the event of a tie to determine the winner, a chip/pitch off will take place, with all four players hitting from a position determined by a member of the golf staff. All 4 players will chip and the aggregate distance of both player’s chip shots (all players will chip) will determine who wins the flight.
All other ties for final positioning will be decided by a scorecard playoff using the score on the final round of competition. If the tie is not broken, the winner will be determined on the basis of the last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes and finally the last hole.

PLAYOFF FORMAT
Overall champion is determined by Three-Hole Aggregate Playoff Using Holes #9, 10, and 18 on Ocean Winds
Format: Alternate Shot
Add individual tournament handicaps together, divide by two then divide by six to determine the team handicap. Teams will have the choice to determine who tees off first and then will alternate teeing off each hole for the remainder of the playoff.
Example: Player A will tee off on Holes #9 & 18. Player B will tee off on Hole #10.
In the event of a tie, a sudden death playoff will start on Hole #18 using alternate shot format. If a winner is not declared after Hole #18, play will continue on that hole using the same format. Teams are allowed to choose who may tee off for the first hole of the sudden-death playoff but will alternate if additional holes are required. Handicaps for the sudden death playoff is as follows: Add both handicaps together and divide by 2 and round up to a whole number. Strokes will be allocated where they fall on the scorecard. In the event of inclement weather that prohibits the completion of the playoff, a scorecard playoff of Day 2 scores between flights will be used to determine the winner using the USGA recommended method (Rule 9-5iii).
Tees: Each player must tee off from their original tournament tees.

OPTIONAL CONTESTS
Hit The Green Contest: Played during Round 1 at Hole #9 on Crooked Oaks. If you successfully hit the green your entry is doubled and will be paid as Professional Shop credit. Nonnegotiable bet $25.
Seabrook Derby: Qualifying for the Seabrook Derby will be held during Round 1 and is an individual competition using Stableford scoring. The player will receive 85% of their handicap (no separate scorecard) The top 4 players from four different categories (Low Gross Member, Low Net Member, Low Gross Guest and Low Net Guest) will make up the two-man teams that will compete in the 8-team derby. The qualifiers will be paired in reverse seed order based on handicap index, one Member with a guest and having one net player with one gross player. The 8 teams will compete in a gross, three-hole, alternate shot shootout with teams eliminated after each hole to determine the derby winners. During the derby, gross qualifiers will play from the Eagle tees while all net players will play the same tees they played in the qualifier.
Players Pool: The Players Pool is an optional game designed to add an extra layer of competition within each flight. All participating teams will compete against others in their respective flight for a separate prize payout.
A $100 entry fee per team will be charged to your member account and contributed to the Players Pool. These funds will be paid out to the top three teams in each flight based on overall tournament performance.
LOCAL RULES
GENERAL
USGA rules and Seabrook Island Club rules will govern all play.
NO PLAY ZONES
These areas exist on holes 15 and 16 on Ocean Winds. These penalty areas are marked with red or yellow stakes with green tops, but the contours of the hazards do not necessarily conform to a straight line between the stakes. To further define the hazard boundaries, it must be inferred that the line of the hazard should conform to the unmown grass or vegetation that is approximately between the hazard stakes. Play from within the No Play Zone is prohibited. If the ball lies within the No Play Zone, the player must take a penalty stroke and proceed under Rule 17.1. If the ball does not lie within the No Play Zone, but the player must stand in that area to play the next stroke, he must take relief (without penalty) no closer to the hole such that the stroke may be played without standing in the No Play Zone.
ALTERNATIVE TO STROKE & DISTANCE
When a player’s ball cannot be found or is thought to be out of bounds, the player may proceed as follows and apply two penalty strokes: take relief by dropping their ball in an area between:
The point where the ball is believed to have come to rest (if lost) or crossed the out-of-bounds line (if OB) and A point established by moving laterally to the edge of the fairway of the hole being played, within 2 club lengths of the edge of the rough but not nearer the hole (see Rule 14.3).
LOCAL RULES
SPRINKLER HEADS CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS
Relief from interference by an abnormal course condition (immovable obstruction) may be taken under Rule 16.1. In addition, if a ball lies off the putting green but not in a penalty area and an abnormal course condition on or within two club lengths of the putting green and two club lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief as follows: The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay that:
(a) is not nearer the hole
(b) avoids intervention and (c) is not in a penalty area of on a putting green
OCEAN WINDS #15 TEE SHOT
A drop area is available on #15 as an additional option for balls hit into the fronting penalty area.
CROOKED OAKS #18 TEE SHOT
A drop zone is available across the bridge on the right for all balls deemed to be lost in the penalty area right of the fairway. For balls lost in the frontal pond off the tee, players must re-tee.
CROOKED OAKS #13 TEE SHOT
A drop area is located just left of the cart path as an additional option for ball hit in the penalty area.
