Stoneybrook Happenings By Denis Oldani, President HOA Summer’s here! Time to soak up the sun, relax by the pool, or maybe escape with a good beach read. Here are a few recommendations: The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune: A light and humorous adventure. One by One by Ruth Ware: For those who enjoy a bit of suspense. The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles: A captivating read for history buffs. Staying cool under the summer sun, as the heat rises, remember to stay cool and hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Seek shade during the hottest part of the day, typically between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wear loose, lightweight clothing made from breathable fabrics like cotton. Take a refreshing dip
in the pool or enjoy a cool shower. Don’t forget, hurricane season is still upon us. Here are some resources to help you stay prepared: National Hurricane Center: https://www.nhc. noaa.gov/, Ready.gov: https://www.ready.gov/hurricanes. Exciting news! The gym remodel is almost complete. Expect a fresh coat of paint, and an even better space to get your workout in. Don’t forget about the monthly Men’s Breakfast at Perkins! Join your fellow residents for good food and conversation every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable July. Remember to stay hydrated, stay cool, and be prepared for anything hurricane season might throw our way. Stay safe.

Stay Prepared: Hurricane Season 2024 Hurricane preparedness is a lot like preventive healthcare. Your annual exams, screenings, immunizations and more can help prevent health problems or find them early when they’re easiest to treat. It’s the same with getting ready in advance of hurricane season. This year, national forecasters are predicting “above-normal” hurricane activity in the Atlantic basin year. Whatever the weather brings, preparation remains key when it comes to your health and medical needs. The return of La Niña and near-record ocean temperatures in the Atlantic Ocean are among the key drivers of a concerning forecast, experts say. The hurricane season started on June 1 and ends Nov. 30. Stoneybrook
First Things First: Know The Locations Of Special Care Shelters Larry Antonucci, M.D., MBA and president and CEO of Lee Health, says a key component of preparing for hurricane season is determining if you or your loved ones need access to a special care shelter. “Lee Health hospitals and facilities are not hurricane shelters,” Dr. Antonucci says. “If you or a loved one requires assistance that exceeds services provided at a general population shelter, you must preregister with Lee County Emergency Management.” To do so, visit the Lee County Special Needs Program. The special needs program is free to Lee County residents. The program provides PRSRT STD shelter for people who live US POSTAGE in a home and/or area that’s PAID FT MYERS FL PERMIT 751
