Mailbox doors have a closure spring that eventually breaks after thousands of openings. It is important to replace them as soon as they are discovered as they usually result in a broken door, which is a much more expensive repair. The cost of repairing/replacing the various parts for mailboxes and lampposts is as follows: • Mailbox spring repair is $40. • If the mailbox door casting breaks the cost to replace the door is $179. • Mailbox and lamp post can be repainted for $70 for both.
