Our Apprenticeship Team can help you search for vacancies, prepare your application and get ready for interviews. Can I apply for college and apprenticeships at the same time? Yes. We encourage you to apply for both. This keeps your options open while you apply for apprenticeship vacancies, so you can choose the route that’s right for you. What if I don’t find an apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are competitive, so it’s a good idea to have a back-up plan. If you’ve applied for a college course, you can continue your education while applying for future apprenticeship opportunities. Can I still go to university afterwards? Yes. Apprenticeships can lead to Higher or Degree Apprenticeships, university or skilled employment. The route you choose depends on your career goals. Do apprentices get paid? Yes. Apprentices are employees, so you’ll earn a wage, receive paid holiday and gain valuable workplace experience while working towards your qualification.

Most students apply through Careers East Sussex with support from their school. We recommend applying before Christmas to give yourself the best chance of securing a place on your first-choice course. You can still apply after Christmas, but our courses fill up fast. If you’re applying independently, you can also apply through our website. Applications made online are submitted through the same Careers East Sussex system, so whichever route you choose, your application will reach us.
