Lower School: How to Apply Checklist
International Students, Grades Pre-K–6

❍ Apply Online by December 15, 2026: Applying early provides your family with the greatest scheduling flexibility for interviews and assessments. * International Pre-K–Grade 6 applicants must submit the Sierra Canyon Online Application. (The SAO application is not accepted.) STEP 2: SUBMIT REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND RECOMMENDATION FORMS BY JANUARY 8, 2027
❍ Passport and Visa Information (all applicants): Please email copies of the applicant’s passport and (if applicable) visa as soon as possible.
❍ English Proficiency Testing: English Proficiency Testing is required for applicants to Grades 3–6 who are unable to visit campus for an in-person assessment. Applicants for Grades Pre-K–2 will be assessed by Zoom if they cannot complete the assessment in person. • Grades 3 and 4: TOEFL Primary (Step 2) or Duolingo • Grades 5 and 6: TOEFL Junior (Standard) or Duolingo
Application Deadline: December 15, 2026 * Applicants for Grades Pre-K–6 must plan to live with a parent or legal guardian.
❍ Recommendation Forms (all applicants): Please download the required forms from our website. Click “Required Documents” at SCInternationalAdmission.org. • Grades Pre-K–2: Teacher and Administrator Recommendation Forms • Grades 3–6: Math Teacher, English Teacher, and Administrator Recommendation Forms
❍ Transcripts/Progress Reports and Standardized Testing (Grades 1-6): Please submit a completed Transcript/Progress Report Request Form to enable your child’s school to release official documents to Sierra Canyon. • We require official grades/progress reports and standardized testing from the current school year and previous two years. * All recommendation forms and transcripts must be sent directly from the applicant’s school to Sierra Canyon. For your convenience, you may email these forms to your school directly from your admission portal checklist or download them from our website (SCInternationalAdmission.org) to submit. Schools should email documents directly to LSadmission@sierracanyonschool.org. STEP 3: SCHEDULE A FAMILY INTERVIEW
❍ If you plan to visit Los Angeles: We encourage you to plan your visit around January 23 or February 6 so your child can complete an in-person assessment while you attend a parent information session with the School’s Leadership Team. We can also arrange your private tour and parent interview for the following Monday. If this timing does not work, we are happy to accommodate a fall visit on a school day.
