Following the success of the Scotty’s Tigers rugby teams raising awareness & funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers in the rugby community the past couple of years, 2016 will see the launch of the
Official Scotty’s LITTLE Soldiers Rugby Team About Scotty’s LITTLE Soldiers Scotty’s is a charity supporting children who have lost a parent in the British Armed Forces. The charity provides a host of support benefits including access to bereavement counselling, holiday breaks, group parties, special experiences and development grants. Why start a charity rugby team?
Since Scotty’s Little Soldiers was founded in 2010 the charity has received phenomenal support from the rugby community. Not only can it name rugby legends Ben Kay, George Chuter and Louis Deacon amongst it’s supporters, Scotty’s also benefited from being the official charity partner of Leicester Tigers in 2013. Charity matches and tournaments played in support of Scotty’s have generated ten’s of thousands of pounds in fundraising and created a large community of support from the rugby world. In 2013 a group of supporters founded the Scotty’s Tigers rugby 7’s side and began playing tournaments around the UK raising awareness and funds for the charity as they did. The success of this fundraising has led us to create an official Scotty’s Little Soldiers rugby team. We believe this is a unique way to further raise the profile of the charity and a great brand awareness opportunity for our partners.
