COVID-19 Protocol Update Across the United States, leading touring artists, promoters, and producers have recently implemented vaccination requirements to safeguard artists’ and patrons’ health. To continue to present world-class performances, Scottsdale Arts has developed new safety protocols. Scottsdale Arts will implement this new set of policies to counter the significant increase in COVID-19 Delta Variant cases in our community. Policies will remain in place open-ended, until such time as benchmarks indicate changes and revisions. As a first step, Scottsdale Arts has required all staff members to become fully vaccinated by September 30, 2021. Beginning on October 1, 2021, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will require all patrons to provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of attending an event or performance. An exception to the COVID-19 test requirement will be granted if a patron provides the Center with proof of full vaccination. We continue to strongly recommend all patrons wear face masks to further help prevent the spread of the disease. For Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA), we will continue to utilize our timed-entry system, which guarantees capacity control and encourages appropriate distancing. We also continue to recommend face masks for all Museum visitors as an additional safeguard. Utilizing the latest technology, in addition to specially trained staff, will minimize inconveniences to our patrons. We will contact all ticket holders with policy details and updates throughout the coming weeks. If you are a ticket holder and are uncomfortable with these new safeguards, please let us know, and we will do our best to exchange or refund your tickets. Scottsdale Arts is deeply committed to providing the highest level of safety for our patrons. All the above efforts—together with our UV and ionization filters, stringent sanitization protocols, and touchless equipment—will give our patrons, staff, and volunteers peace of mind. We realize that these policies are an inconvenience. But they are necessary to protect touring artists traveling from city to city and performing in front of thousands of people day after day. Implementing these protocols allows us to once again celebrate the magic of live performances. We look forward to seeing you on our Scottsdale Arts campus soon.
