ABOUT THE ARTISTS Will Champion (he/him) is making his national tour debut. Repped by Buchwald for Animation and VO, Champion was recently featured as the voice of Vision and Starfox in Marvel’s WHAT IF…? An Immersive Story. Other notable credits include Edward in Stephen King’s I Know What You Need (SDCC Film Fest), the voice of Tiberius in Barbarians (Netflix), and the current DM over at the Bards of New York D&D podcast. Love to Emily, Calzone, and his family! @WillTheChamp RJ Christian rolled really well and is excited to join the Dungeons & Dragons Twenty-Sided Tavern (D&DTST) family on tour. Christian contributed music and lyrics to the Ratatouille TikTok Musical and can be heard as MacGyver on the MacGyver the Musical cast album. Christian is the cofounder and resident composer for The Hearty Meal Theatre company. He’s repped by Hells Kitchen Agency. Jasmin Malave is a lifelong nerd and longtime immersive actor. Malave is absolutely tickled to be making her national tour debut with something as on-brand as D&DTST! RomCom lovers can check out her podcast Shenanigans Ensue, and gamers can hear her voice in The Unbeatable Path. Outside interests include re-reading Chekhov, video games with friends, tending her many plants, and eating nice things. Conner Marx is best known as Ben Meyer on NBC’s New Amsterdam, but notable nerd cred includes Resident Evil: Village, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, The Gamers: Hands of Fate, Mana Screwed, and Peter Adkison’s Chaldea. She is a founding member of the Chicago-based High Stakes Productions (HighStakesProductions.org), known for its original work blending improv, narrative, and spectacle. Her latest stage credit is the 15-month off-Broadway run of The Twenty-Sided Tavern, where she made her New York debut as a professional nerd. She is reprising her role for the show’s upcoming national tour. Murphy’s work has spanned new play development, longform improv, print, and commercials. She recently expanded into voiceover and video game performance, bringing her character-forward instincts to new platforms. Offstage, she’s a well-read chaos gremlin who is always down for a book recommendation, a niche beer menu, and a well-organized Google Drive. For Angela, Nick, and RMG. Diego F. Salinas is a Chicago-based actor and professional Dungeon Master, making his offBroadway debut with the talented D&DTST team. From Broadway to the Edinburgh Fringe, Shields and her team provide strategic and creative leadership for the world’s most innovative and exciting productions. Additional credits include Cabaret, My Son’s a Queer, A Christmas Carol, and BATSU. CitySalt delivers artistically bold, operationally sound theatrical experiences. Shields is also a co-founder of The Business of Broadway. Duncan Northern (Production Manager) is a New York City-based production manager whose work spans over 100 commercial productions worldwide. From New York’s off-Broadway and Broadway stages to international arenas, he is proud to help bring this production of The Twenty-Sided Tavern to audiences across the country. LEFTOVER SALMON PROGRAM To be announced onstage. ABOUT THE ARTIST Few bands stick around for 35 years. Even fewer bands leave a legacy during that time that marks them as a truly special, once-in-lifetime type band. And no band has done all that and had as much fun as Leftover Salmon. Since their earliest days as a forward thinking, progressive bluegrass band—who had the guts to add drums to the mix and who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever evolving sound—to their role as pioneers of the modern jamband scene to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a huge influential shadow over every festival they play, the members of Leftover Salmon have been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while, at the same time, pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly, unique style. The band now features a lineup that has been together longer than any other in Salmon history and is one of the strongest the legendary group has ever assembled. Built around the core of founding members Drew Emmitt and Vince Herman, the band is now powered by banjo-wiz Andy Thorn and driven by the steady rhythm section of bassist Greg Garrison, drummer Alwyn Robinson, and dobro player and keyboardist Jay Starling. The current lineup is continuing the long, storied history of Salmon, which first found them emerging from the progressive bluegrass world and coming of age as one the original jam bands before rising to become architects of what has become known as “jamgrass” and helping to create a landscape where bands schooled in the traditional rules of bluegrass can break free of those bonds through nontraditional instrumentation and an innate ability to push songs in new psychedelic directions live. Salmon is a band that, for more than 35 years, has never stood still; they are constantly changing, evolving, and inspiring. If someone wanted to understand what Americana music is, they could do no better than to go to a Leftover Salmon show, where they effortlessly glide from a bluegrass number born on the front porch to the down-and-dirty Cajun swamps with a stop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans to the hallowed halls of the Ryman in Nashville before firing one up in the mountains of Colorado.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS Ask any true jazz fan to draw up a list of the greatest vocalists of the modern era and the name Dee Dee Bridgewater will inevitably appear at the top. Repeat the exercise for contemporary pianists and you’ll just as assuredly see Bill Charlap on the short list. Draw a line between the two however, and the most dedicated aficionado would have no chance of predicting the outcome. The prospect of a collaboration proved daunting even to Bridgewater and Charlap themselves, who had never worked together prior to their first meeting live on stage in 2019. Two of the most highly respected figures in the world of jazz—Dee Dee Bridgewater and Bill Charlap—document their critically acclaimed, sold-out live concerts on their first collaborative Grammy-nominated album, Elemental. Bridgewater and Charlap curate a repertoire that only they can present: exploring the deep understanding of jazz tradition alongside impeccable phrasing and a once-in-a-generation dynamic range, bringing a level of sophistication that is sure to be considered a masterpiece for generations to come. Dee Dee Bridgewater Over the course of a multifaceted career spanning four decades, Grammy and Tony Award-winning jazz giant Dee Dee Bridgewater has ascended to the upper echelon of vocalists, putting her unique spin on standards, as well as taking intrepid leaps of faith in reenvisioning jazz classics. Ever the fearless voyager, explorer, pioneer and keeper of tradition, the three-time Grammy winner recently won the award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for Eleanora Fagan (1915–1959): To Billie With Love From Dee Dee. Bridgewater’s career has always bridged musical genres. She earned her first professional experience as a member of the legendary Thad Jones/Mel Louis Big Band, and throughout the 1970s she performed with such jazz notables as Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, and Dizzy Gillespie. After a foray into the pop world during the 1980s, she relocated to Paris and began to turn her attention back to jazz. Signing with the Universal Music Group as a producer (she produces all of her own albums), Bridgewater released a series of critically acclaimed titles, beginning with Keeping Tradition in 1993. All but one, including her wildly successful double Grammy-winning tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, Dear Ella, have received Grammy nominations. Bridgewater also pursued a parallel career in musical theatre, winning a Tony Award for her role as Glinda in The Wiz in 1975. Having recently completed a run as the lead role of Billie Holiday in the off-Broadway production of Lady Day, her other theatrical credits include Sophisticated Ladies, Black Ballad, Carmen, Cabaret, and the off-Broadway and West End productions of Lady Day, for which Bridgewater received the British Laurence Olivier Nomination for Best Actress in a Musical.

Bill Charlap Grammy-winning pianist Bill Charlap has performed with many of the leading artists of our time, including Phil Woods, Tony Bennett, Gerry Mulligan, Wynton Marsalis, Freddy Cole and Houston Person. Born in New York City, Charlap began playing the piano at age 3. His father was Broadway composer Moose Charlap, whose credits include Peter Pan, and his mother is singer Sandy Stewart, who toured with Benny Goodman and was a regular on the Perry Como show. She earned a 1963 Grammy nomination for her recording of “My Coloring Book.” In 2005, Charlap and Stewart released the acclaimed album Love Is Here To Stay (Blue Note). In 1997, Charlap formed his trio with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington, now recognized as one of the leading groups in jazz. In 2000, he was signed to Blue Note Records and received two Grammy nominations for Somewhere: The Songs of Leonard Bernstein and The Bill Charlap Trio: Live at the Village Vanguard. He is known for his interpretations of American popular song. Time magazine wrote, “Bill Charlap approaches a song the way a lover approaches his beloved ... no matter how imaginative or surprising his take on a song is, he invariably zeroes in on its essence.” In 2016, Tony Bennett & Bill Charlap: The Silver Lining, The Songs of Jerome Kern was awarded a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Album. In 2024, the Bill Charlap Trio released And Then Again (Blue Note Records), their second live recording from the legendary Village Vanguard club. In 2025, vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater and Bill Charlap released Elemental, their debut duet album on Mack Avenue Records. From 2004 through 2023, Charlap was artistic director of New York City’s Jazz in July Festival at 92NY. He has produced concerts for Jazz at Lincoln Center, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Chicago Symphony Center and the Hollywood Bowl. Charlap is married to renowned jazz pianist and composer Renee Rosnes, and the two artists often collaborate in a duo piano setting. In 2010, Charlap and Rosnes released Double Portrait (Blue Note). Bill Charlap is currently the director of jazz studies at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.

PROGRAM NOTES from Artistic Director Christopher Gabbitas Transcendence brings together a first half of Nordic music—hailing from Iceland, Estonia, and Norway—and a second half of British music, each piece linked by its evocative nature, whether in relation to feelings, sense, or place. Beginning with loss and suffering with the music of Arvo Pärt and Anna Thorvaldsdottir, we consider the human emotions of grief and penitence and, ultimately, grace and forgiveness. Hypnotic and energizing in turn, the music seeks to embody these feelings and provide release. Ola Gjeilo’s The Road is an homage to the composer’s homeland, with texts written by Charles Anthony Silvestri. The physical journey personifies the passage of time throughout life and the accompanying emotions, including comfort and protection, spiritual enlightenment, and the endless possibility of new discoveries in our future. Ending the first half is a taste of what’s to come in the form of Rebecca Dale’s beautiful miniature Cloths of Heaven. Setting text by William Butler Yeats and contrasting poverty and love, the speaker wishes to give his beloved the ethereal “cloths of heaven” but can offer only his fragile dreams, prone to be trodden on and destroyed. Dale’s majestic, symphonic work When Music Sounds forms the backbone of the second half. Each of these movements conjures brief but intense emotional journeys, almost like scenes from a movie, and the composing language draws the listener into ever-shifting sound spaces and moments of breathtaking joy. ABOUT THE ARTIST As the only internationally recognized professional choral ensemble in the Valley, the Grammy-winning Phoenix Chorale showcases the expert talents of Arizona’s highly trained and versatile singers in performances celebrated for their technical agility and emotional impact. PHOENIX CHORALE TRANSCENDENCE Christopher Gabbitas, Artistic Director Christopher Gabbitas is now in his seventh season as artistic director of Phoenix Chorale and continues to feel honored to work with such incredible Arizona musicians, at the helm of one of America’s longeststanding choral traditions. Taking piano lessons from the age of 3, and singing as a boy chorister from the age of 8, it was perhaps inevitable that Gabbitas would gravitate toward a career in music—but in fact he read law at university alongside membership of the Chapel Choir at St John’s College, Cambridge University, and attended Law School at Oxford whilst singing as a lay clerk at Christ Church College, Oxford University. It looked as though a fairly standard career as an attorney would follow. This changed in 2004 when Gabbitas was auditioned and selected to join British a cappella ensemble The King’s Singers, where he spent 15 years recording and touring around the world. Their recordings were recognized with two Grammy Awards, and in 2013 The King’s Singers were inducted into the inaugural Gramophone Hall of Fame. On leaving the touring life, Gabbitas set up an innovative creative commercial legal practice under the Keystone Law platform in London, recognized as a leading English Law practice, and he continues to lead this alongside his work with Phoenix Chorale. Gabbitas is a trustee of both the Voces8 Foundation and Kent Music and is a member of the Royal Society of Musicians. Much though he loves to make music, more than anything Gabbitas enjoys returning home to his wife Stephanie—who hails from the great Commonwealth of Kentucky—and their three girls Bella, Lyra, and Ariana, each of whom loves to sing. Rebecca Dale, Composer After her self-release for choir and orchestra, “I’ll Sing”, reached No.1 in the iTunes Classical Single Charts, British composer Rebecca Dale made history in 2018 when she became the first female composer to sign to Universal Music’s Decca Classics label and the first woman to sign to Decca Publishing. Her debut album, Requiem For My Mother, featuring her requiem and symphony, went to No.1 in the specialist Classical charts. As a concert composer her work has been performed by ensembles including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Philharmonia, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, the London Mozart Players, the Scottish Festival Orchestra, Voces8, Tenebrae, soloists Steven Isserlis, Raphaela Gromes, Mari & Hakon Samuelson, Angele Dubeau, Guy Johnston, Alexej Gerassimez, Joby Burgess, Richard Harwood and Louise Alder, as well as musicians of the London Symphony Orchestra and British opera houses. Her requiem was premiered by the Welsh National Opera’s community chorus; she writes regularly for choirs and orchestras with premieres widely across the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Europe, and Australia. As 2023 composer in residence for the Opus Foundation, a series of dedicated concerts of her work for choir and orchestra across the Netherlands culminated at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In 2021, she was commissioned to write the Church of England and Classic FM’s first Christmas single, and in 2023 her orchestral reimagining of a Scottish folk melody was selected by HRH King Charles to be performed by violinist Nicola Benedetti at the Scottish service for his coronation. Dale is a fellow of the famous MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire, and her music is broadcast regularly on classical radio.
