This special event brings together two things that have long defined our community: a deep appreciation for creativity and a strong commitment to supporting the next generation.

Through the generosity of our artists, sponsors, volunteers and purchasers, the Art Show has become one of the Foundation’s most anticipated traditions, celebrating artistic talent while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. As in the past proceeds from the Art Show will support the delivery of the Indigenous Program at Scotch College. The program provides opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to thrive academically, culturally and personally, while enriching the educational experience of the entire Scotch community through greater understanding, connection and respect. The Scotch College First Nations Program aims to embed in First Nations and non-First Nations students, as well as in staff and the broader school community, the foundational belief that education is both the key and the hope for the future of First Nations Australians. The Scotch College Foundation Australian Art Show raises funds for the Foundation’s First Nations Program Support Fund. This fund allows Tiwi College students to visit Melbourne annually, and also provides funding for First Nations scholarship recipients to partake in interstate and international school tours. From the Director of the Scotch College Indigenous Program When we first planned a football trip to the Tiwi Islands in 1996, I don’t think any of us could have predicted the transformative effect it would have on our school.

Our first scholarship students came from the Tiwi Islands and Darwin, because of our longstanding relationship with the Tiwi community. In recent years we have built relationships with Indigenous communities closer to home; all of our current scholarship boys come from Victoria. Our journey has been one of continual learning and commitment as we seek to enhance the experience and opportunities available to our Indigenous boys. We take enormous pride in their achievements and eagerly anticipate the positive impact that both our current scholars and Indigenous Old Boys will have on their communities and beyond.

Learning and working to improve the experience
Education is both the key to and hope for the future of Indigenous Australians
Central to our Indigenous Program is our dedicated team who work with all Scotch staff to support and mentor Indigenous students. The team is ably led by Dr Robert Smith, with Peta Usher coordinating Academic Support and Nick Clark leading the Indigenous Partnership Program.
The Scotch College Indigenous Program aims to embed Indigenous and nonIndigenous students, staff and the broader school community in the foundational belief that education is both the key to and hope for the future of Indigenous Australians.
The Scotch Program is built around four P’s: people, passion, persistence and patience: people who are passionate about indigenous education and respectful of cultural differences and empathetic to variances in traditional learning styles; people who are patient and persistent in working with young men, dealing with the inevitable challenges, and harnessing their capabilities to achieve realistic goals and outcomes.
Every Scotch staff member has an important role to play.

Our Indigenous Scholarship Program ensures that, during the most influential years of their lives, some 2000 Scotch boys have opportunity to learn from, and develop friendships with, Indigenous students. Since 2006, nearly fifty Indigenous students have successfully completed Year 12 and have enriched the School’s social, academic, sporting and other co-curricular activities and programs.

Develop the skills and confidence to walk in both worlds of contemporary Australia Students in the program are drawn from communities across the nation. The fundamental selection criteria are resilience, including a desire to complete Year 12, and the potential to flourish in a school such as Scotch. At Scotch they develop the skills and the confidence to walk in both worlds of contemporary Australia. Scotch takes an innovative approach to community partnerships, academic support and mentorship. Fundamental to this is the support, encouragement and mentoring the boys receive from Scotch staff.
We work closely with Indigenous community leaders to identify boys who have the capacity and family support, not only to survive at Scotch, but to thrive. These students are usually active in their communities. We measure our success not only by completion rates, but also by the positive choices that our graduates have made in their lives beyond Scotch. By having access to a Scotch education, boys taking part in the program can become role models in their own communities.

Tiwi College Partnership Our partnership with Tiwi College is a way for Scotch to support indigenous-led education, helping the Tiwi community build a future for their young people. Scotch’s relationship with Tiwi College began with a football tour to Melville Island in 1996, and has grown to become a deeply valued and enduring partnership between the two schools. It has led to the establishment of genuine, deep-rooted and ongoing friendships between Scotch boys and their Tiwi peers, as well as among educators at both schools. In recent years this relationship has been elevated into an official partnership via the Yadha Muru Foundation. The Yadha Muru Foundation partners metropolitan and remote Indigenous schools to improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students while strengthening connections between schools, families and communities. Following the devastation caused by Cyclone Fina in December 2025,
the Scotch College community rallied behind our long-standing partner school, Tiwi College, launching a major fundraising appeal to help restore critical facilities and support the continuation of learning for Tiwi students. Through the generosity of donors, alumni, parents and friends, $522,000 was raised to assist the College’s recovery and rebuilding efforts. This special partnership has had a strong, positive impact on the Scotch Family’s understanding of Indigenous Australia.
Located at Pickataramoor on Melville Island, Tiwi College is an exciting and dynamic secondary boarding school, initiated and governed by the Tiwi people to provide quality education for young Tiwi people. The College is owned and managed by the Tiwi people through the Tiwi Education Board, which comprises senior men and women from all Tiwi communities. Tiwi College is a weekly boarding facility where students are accommodated in Family Group Homes. The College caters for holistic learning; helping young Tiwi people become ‘work ready’.

genuine, lasting friendships. This experience provides wonderful opportunity for selected boys from the islands to visit Melbourne and experience non-Tiwi culture and education, and occurs thanks to the generosity of current Scotch families. Scotch boys are welcomed into the life of the Tiwi Islands, both on football tours and cultural exchanges. Boys who have visited the Tiwi Islands describe the experience as truly lifechanging, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of Australia’s history, and the potential for our shared future. We provide educational support for Tiwi College through staff exchanges, training and ongoing interaction between staff at both schools. At its heart, our partnership with Tiwi College is about supporting the Tiwi Elders in what they know is an essential element in the lives of their young people – a quality education.

TOM ADAIR Tom Adair is an Australian contemporary artist whose practice remarks on contemporary life. Through a panoply of imagery, Adair deconstructs familiar landscapes, objects, and text to renew our perception of our surrounds. His works interact with both cultural clichés and the canon, often founded on an understated reverence for popular technology, which Adair pairs unexpectedly with nature.
The brightness of his work reflects an observer of the virtual age with a lively inquiry for the interplay between screens, publishing, selfhood and the environment.

GRAEME ALTMANN Graeme Altmann has earned widespread recognition for his evocative and expansive landscapes. He completed a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Arts) in 1989, majoring in painting, before pursuing a Postgraduate Degree in Painting at Monash University under the mentorship of Phillip Hunter. During this time, he was noticed by Sydney gallery director Chandler Coventry, leading to his debut solo exhibition at Coventry Gallery. He has since held numerous solo exhibitions in both Sydney and Melbourne.
In 1995, Altmann was honoured to one of the first to be selected by the Arthur Boyd residency program at Shoalhaven followed with a major solo exhibition at Warrnambool Art Gallery. His accolades include winning the Mission Seafarers Art Prize (2005) and being a finalist in several prestigious awards. Currently living in Melbourne, Graeme continues to exhibit on a regular basis.

HANSEN AMANN Hansen Amann is a Melbourne-based emerging artist. He is a practicing Architect and Photographer who has worked as a Design Architect on projects of varying sector & scale in Australia and abroad. Through this professional process of design comes a deep understanding of the construction industry, housing, conceptual design and the associated challenges.
Grounded in years of architectural practice, his photographic work extends beyond documentation to examine the breadth and quality of Melbourne’s built legacy and how architecture expresses itself through materiality, form, and movement.

GREER ARNOTT Greer Arnott is an acrylic painter and ceramic artist based in Loch, South Gippsland. Whether working on 3D clay sculptures or acrylic paintings, Greer’s work realistically depicts elements of the natural world. Her work focuses on nature, highlighting the beauty of the world around us in the hope of cultivating connection, awe and stewardship of the everyday to protect what we have left.
Greer is largely self-taught but is informed by her degree in naturist studies and environmental education.
She is the recipient of the Leongatha Art Show Best Acrylic (2026) and Kernot Art Show Best Acrylic or oil (2025).
Greer’s work has been featured in exhibitions at Cook Street Collective (2025) Flinders, Stockyard Gallery (2025/2026) Foster and has a forthcoming exhibition at Meeniyan Gallery 2026/2027.

TANYA BAILY Tanya Baily is an award-winning Australian artist. Recently working in transparent watercolour and on a large scale, she explores the diverse applications of watercolour in a painting context, where historically the medium has been underrepresented.
Tanya exhibits in Sydney and internationally.
She is a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute. Significant prizes include winner of FLOW National Watercolour Prize at Wollongong Art Gallery 2019 and winner of the Rex Irwin Prize for Mart COFA 2010.

NICCI BEDSON Nicci is an early-career painter from Illawarra, NSW. Nicci has firmly established her practice through exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions, alongside commissions. She has been a finalist in major arts prizes, including National Emerging Art Prize, Fishers Ghost Art Award, Wollongong Art Prize. Her work is in public and private collections including The Macquarie Group and Wollongong Art Gallery.
Nicci’s work centres around housescapes and urban landscapes, extending to domestic interiors and still-life. Through realistic paintings Nicci captures the heritage of our built environment, drawing attention to midcentury facades, nostalgic charm and the beauty of ordinary places we pass daily.

EDDIE BOTHA Eddie is a multi disciplinary illustrative artist whose work focuses on in the theme of interaction. He draws with ink brush pens on mixed media surfaces, telling stories. Eddie has exhibited widely in Australia and internationally and his work is held in various national
collections such as the national gallery of China and South Korea.
He continues to dissect, with humor and naivety, the roots of our multicultural Australian identity

SALLY BROWNE Floriosa is the botanical painting practice of Sydneybased artist Sally Browne. Working primarily with Australian flora, Browne’s paintings respond to the vitality and unpredictability of plant life, and reflect a long-standing interest in pattern, line, and the expressive possibilities of paint.
Born in the UK, Browne first studied art and surface pattern design before travelling through South East Asia and eventually settling in Sydney. She spent 15 years working as an art director in branding before committing to painting full-time in 2015.
Her work is inspired by the wild plants and birdlife that thrive in overlooked places; unkempt gardens, roadside verges and inner-city streets. Using colour, gesture and loose mark-making, Browne develops painterly responses to the Australian landscape. This body of work sits alongside Browne’s broader painting practice and is presented under the name “Floriosa by Sally Browne”.

BELINDA CHUA Belinda Chua is a Melbourne based ceramic artist. Her journey with ceramics began over 10 years ago as a creative hobby. Her works were exhibited in a few Manningham Arts Exhibitions. Nature is always at the heart of her practice. Belinda finds endless inspiration in the shapes, textures and colours of the natural world. Her work reflects the landscapes, the plants and the wildlife that surround us, celebrating their beauty through both functional and decorative ceramic pieces.
Her practice continues to evolve as she explores more abstract expressions of nature in the recent time. She is fascinated by the relationship between different clay bodies and glazes, embracing experimentation with different surface texture of the clay body through various techniques such as carving. Each piece is unique and carefully hand crafted, with its own distinctive surface and character, inviting people to bring a small connection of nature into their homes.

CAROLINE COLLOM Caroline Collom is an abstract artist whose practice distils and reimagines visual forms, exploring the multi-dimensional possibilities of painting.
Drawing inspiration from her surroundings, she isolates elements from their original context and positions them within spaces that invite a contemplative dialogue of form. Visually layered yet restrained, her paintings transcend conventional representation,
granting abstraction the freedom to carry its own narratives and emotional resonance.
Collom has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in London, Lisbon, LA, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. Her works are held in private collections in the USA, UK, and Australia, including the JAHM collection, Melbourne. Collom is represented by OTOMYS.

TASHI COLUMBRO Tashi Columbro is a multi disciplinary artist working and living on Gadigal land, Sydney.
Columbro graduated from Sydney College of the Arts in 2012, with a focus on Ceramics. She began painting in 2020, the influence of lockdowns still echo through her work, domestic scenes, family and intimate relationships reoccurring in her paintings.
The use of brush work and colour feel like the experience of memory, the recall of a moment of warmth and intimacy. The slipping of time, enhance by the motif of children, these quiet moments are savoured.
Columbro’s vibrant works explore fragility, storytelling and the beauty and connects humanity.

XANGA CONNELLEY Xanga Connelley studied Decorative Arts in London and obtained a BA in Arts and Fine Arts from UNSW. Xanga is currently studying a Masters in Art Therapy at WSU. Her art practice is multi-disciplinary with a focus on still life, landscape and energetic fields relating to music.
She has exhibited in galleries around the world.
Career highlights include an artist residency at NG Residency in Provence, working on community projects at Bondi and Rose Bay and being selected for the Jenny Birt award at UNSW.

ALICIA CORNWELL Alicia Cornwell is a Melbourne-based artist working primarily in oils on canvas. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Art Education. Based in Olinda, her practice is informed by the surrounding Dandenong Ranges, where native flora and seasonal shifts shape her visual language.
Known for contemporary still life, her work brings together botanical subjects and vintage objects. A former antique dealer, she draws on a deep appreciation for patina, history, and form.
Her paintings explore the space between observation and memory. Her work is exhibited and represented by galleries across Australia, with collectors both locally and internationally.

GEOFF CUNNINGHAM Geoff Cunningham is a Melbourne-based stencil artist creating original works inspired by Australian nostalgia. Geoff’s work is collected across Australia and internationally.
His paintings draw on familiar moments – suburban streets, travel memories and subtle surreal details – rendered through a hand-cut, layered process that ensures every piece is unique and made to last.

PHILLIP DAVEY Philip Davey is a painter, ceramicist and printmaker, based in Melbourne. He was born in the English mill town of Tiverton in Devon in 1949, arriving in Australia in 1958.
Trained originally as a teacher, Philip began his art career in his mid-30s, establishing himself on the Melbourne art scene before joining Australian Galleries in 1998. His broad practice incorporates images of urban and natural landscape, as well as figurative narrative works,
often inspired by classic Australian texts. He has been artist in residence at several Victorian secondary institutions.
Davey has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, and his work is held by the British Museum print room, London, Artbank, Sydney, the State Library of Victoria, Melbourne, the National Library of Australia, Canberra and several regional collections.

MATTHEW DAVY ‘21 ‘21 Matthew is an emerging Melbourne-based artist whose work is driven by colour, instinct, and experimentation. His abstract paintings are loud, expressive, and full of energy, using bold colours, playful shapes, and layered textures to create works that feel spontaneous and alive.
Rather than following strict rules, Matthew embraces the unexpected, allowing each painting to develop naturally through movement and emotion. His work encourages viewers to slow down, explore the details, and find their own meaning within the chaos.

KATIE DAY Katie is an artist/farmer based in the Riverina, working in acrylics and pastels. Her landscapes are inspired by the extreme environments from expansive plains to snow covered alpine mountains.
She has also worked in pastels for portraits, enjoying the challenge of capturing the essence of the character, which has included quite a few four legged family members.
Katie has exhibited at many regional shows in NSW & QLD, receiving a few awards.

GINA DEBINSKI Gina’s career began after completing a Bachelor of Education in Art & Craft with major studies in Textile design & Metalwork. With a strong interest in the fashion industry and a special interest in knitwear and textile design Gina was lured to New York and developed into a successful knitwear designer. Gina’s love for fashion and accessories, colour and design inspired her to open her own retail stores in Melbourne when she returned to Australia. She spent the next 10 years running her own retail stores.
In 2014, after a 10 year hiatus Gina returned to her first love, painting. She now works as a full time painter.
Inspired by observations of everyday life and photography, her figurative works express a relaxed and relatable scene. Using an expressive colour palette and layers of acrylic paint Gina builds a familiar scene in a modern play of light and shade.

CATHERINE DE BOISE Catherine is based on the Mornington Peninsula who works primarily with acrylics, exploring the play of light across the coastal landscape. Much of her practice begins outdoors, walking the coastline, taking photographs, and sketching scenes that later evolve into paintings in the studio. Drawn to the transformative power of light, Catherine aims to capture the way it shimmers on the water,
casts long shadows from coastal plants, and makes the landscape glow under the rising or setting sun.
Her work seeks to translate the tranquillity of these natural moments, inviting viewers to share in the peace and stillness that the environment evokes.

JONATHAN DUDLEY Jonathan has lived in Melbourne most of his life and has received the Advanced Certificate in Art and Design, a Bachelor degree in Fine Art and a Postgraduate Diploma in Art History. For the past twenty-two years he has worked as a Gallery Attendant at the National Gallery of Victoria which has been an inspiration for him as a painter.
He says his purpose is “to capture the beauty of nature in all its truth and make pictures that stand the test of time.”

ANNA EMMETT Anna Emmett is an Australian artist based in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria. After a 22-year break, Anna returned to painting through Still Life and Portraiture studies at the Victorian Artists Society, where she developed a strong tonal foundation.
While this training was invaluable, Anna has since found her true passion in landscape painting, exploring abstraction and personal interpretations of her local environment.
Colour now plays a central role in her work.
Influenced by time spent living in France, England and Germany, she is particularly drawn to European tree forms, which subtly inform and shape her visual language.

RUBEN FITTON Ruben Fitton is a Melbourne-based artist completing tertiary studies in classical voice at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.
Originally from Toowoomba, Ruben has developed a portrait practice that has seen him paint numerous sitters for the Archibald Prize, while exhibiting regularly in local art shows.
Alongside his visual arts practice, he maintains a strong commitment to music and performance. Early last year, Ruben was selected as one of twenty singers internationally to participate in an intensive opera program in Italy, reflecting his parallel commitment to visual art and performance.

SARAH GABRIEL Sarah’s work reflects her great respect for flowers, enjoyment of music and connection with our Australian birds.
Using music scrolls, French ink and vessels in ceramic form, Sarah loves the challenge of representing the feelings or energy of nature. Sarah loves to hand build and use her drawing skills to sgraffito the surface of her ceramics.
All her vessels are slightly imperfect, making them like life. They develop as she is building them. Sarah is a practicing full time artist and owner of Lauriston Press gallery, representing printmakers, sculptors and painters in regional Victoria. Sarah lives on a farm in Lauriston.

GEORGIE GALL Through drawing and painting and exploring mixed media, Georgie is drawn to the play of texture, colour, contours and light in her paintings.
The Australian landscape is an inescapable presence in all her work, it is the inspiration for her seascapes, wheat, riverbank, silver birch and textural landscapes. The love of texture characterises Georgie’s work and provides a pathway to convey real and imagined destinations.
Georgie has been a practising artist for over twenty years, living in the fabulous cities of Melbourne and Sydney. She exhibits in galleries in both States and happily paints commissions.

VIRGINIA GUEST Virginia Guest explores how colour theory and light convey the instability and drama of climate. Her work considers the entanglements between humans and nature over time.
Paintings shift between what is known and what is felt, interrogating the emotional forces of the environment and the effect it has on us, and us upon it.
Guest’s process begins with collage, distilled from drawings and photographs. These simplified compositions become a register of accumulated gesture, revealing the record of its own making.
Built through multiple layers of paint and charcoal, the surface becomes both foundation and veil, disrupted but never totally erased.

TRUDI HARLEY Trudi Harley is a Melbourne based artist whose work involves the exploration of what makes a person who they are; often displayed in intricate still life work or in bold portraiture.
Trudi has taught for 10 years in both Government and Independent schools in Melbourne and has worked as a Sales Executive and Art Educator. While currently maintaining her artistic practice she co-owns and runs Atelier Art Supplies in Williamstown, Victoria, which is a major supporter of the arts in the western suburbs
of Melbourne. She has a Bachelor of Education, an Honours degree (First Class) in Visual Arts and a Master of Arts degree (Research). Her Still Life work is often painted in the style of the Spanish Bodegone artists, small intimate paintings and drawings detailing everyday objects and items of historical reference. She has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Portia Geach Memorial Portrait Award three times.

ANDREA HOPGOOD Andrea Kirkham-Hopgood is a Melbourne based artist who creates light filled explorations of the landscape.

CHRISTOPHER JEWITT ‘05 ‘05 Christopher Jewitt is a contemporary artist whose work embraces spontaneity, movement, and experimentation. Based in Melbourne, his practice is shaped by immersive experiences in unfamiliar environments, from China, where he was awarded Top Documentary Photographer at Nankai University, to self-directed residencies across Europe and Japan.

LOUISE KNOWLES Based in Sydney, Lou Knowles is a painter that loves colour and texture. Since the late 90’s she has worked predominantly in oils. She is heavily influenced by what surrounds her spaces, objects and the landscape.

ASH LESLIE Ash Leslie is an abstract painter based in Thirroul on the coast South of Sydney. After nearly a decade in graphic design, Ash discovered a renewed intensity for painting while on maternity leave with her first daughter. The work was made in quiet intervals, often in the margins of the day. Early exhibitions in local cafés and businesses met with encouragement, and from these beginnings, a practice took shape: rigorous, intimate, and unmistakably her own.
Recognised across Australia, including finalist selections in the Paddington Art Prize, Flow Art Prize, and Signature Art Prize, Ash has quickly established herself as a singular voice in contemporary abstraction.

KERRYN LEVY Kerryn Levy (b.1992) is a ceramic artist based on Peramangk Country (Strathalbyn, South Australia).
Working primarily in hand-built ceramics, her practice explores relationships between body and landscape through forms that echo human, botanical and animal bodies. Through tactile surfaces and traces of touch, her work considers memory, connection and place.
Levy holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Ceramics) from the University of South Australia and completed the Ceramics Associate Program at JamFactory Craft and Design in 2018. Her work was collected by Shepparton Art Museum and is held in private collections nationally and internationally.

CRAIG MACKIE Craig Mackie has been painting, illustrating and cartooning for most of his life but began pursuing art professionally after leaving the offset printing industry to focus entirely on his art practice. Craig would describe his acrylic paintings as mostly realism but with the occasional visits into surrealism. He is drawn to the overlooked - everyday buildings and landscapes that often go unnoticed.
He undertook formal art studies in his youth but learnt more by watching his father who worked as a technical illustrator (when such a profession existed) and painted as a hobby. Craig loved seeing his father set up his easel, which he now uses to paint. Craig is self-taught but sees every new painting as another lesson. His works have found homes through galleries, art shows and solo exhibitions.

HUGO MATHIAS Hugo Mathias is an artist and teacher from Aotearoa New Zealand. He currently lives in Melbourne. As a multi-disciplinary artist, Hugo’s work explores everyday objects and our subjective associations with them.
Hugo has exhibited his work in New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan, with two of his pieces residing in the James Wallace
Arts Trust collection in New Zealand, and one piece in the Haengchon Art Museum collection in South Korea.
He received a Bachelor of Design in 2011 from Massey University in Wellington, New Zealand. Hugo currently teaches secondary school visual art, design & woodworking in Melbourne.

AMANDA MCCOLL Amanda McColl is an abstract painter based on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, specialising in unique, bespoke artworks. Her practice focuses on vibrant shocks of colour and rich textures, using acrylics on canvas and paper with brushes and palette knives. After studying at Prahran College, Amanda dedicated herself full-time to her art in 1998.
Over the past 27 years, she has exhibited extensively in Melbourne and Hong Kong.

VICKI MCINNES Vicki McInnes is a Melbourne painter skilled in realistic painting and drawing, working across various genres, and known primarily for her still life paintings in oils.
Vicki feels a strong connection to home: a sense of place, the importance of the handmade, the homegrown, the everyday - these themes she explores in paintings and drawings. Vicki took on Max Meldrum’s discipline of Tonalist painting - with no preliminary drawing and always
working directly from the subject - studying with Don James at Montsalvat. Using this classic approach, she has developed a distinctly contemporary style.
She held her first solo exhibition at The Light Factory Gallery in Eltham in 2013, and has held three at Malvern Artists’ Society: in 2016, 2023 and in May this year. She teaches and runs workshops in drawing and painting, and continues to exhibit regularly at selected art shows.

KIRSTY MCINTYRE Kirsty McIntyre is a Melbourne-based artist whose practice centres on oil painting with palette knife on canvas. Her work draws inspiration from Australian native flowers and birds.
Her paintings are characterised by luminous light, richly layered compositions, and an evocative sense of movement and impermanence. In a review for The Canberra Times, Peter Haynes wrote: “McIntyre’s use of pattern is beautifully controlled. The artist’s use of an intense light suffuses the overall composition,
allowing each element to be clearly delineated and hold pictorial autonomy. Light also imbues a sense of McIntyre capturing a moment in time. The beautifully random compositions, filled with freely dispersed floral and other objects, convey delicate movement, the transience of nature, and the innate beauty within that transience.” Initially self-taught, McIntyre has further developed her practice through private tuition and workshops with prominent Australian and international artists.

LUCIA MOCNAY Lucia Mocnay is a multi-disciplinary bricolage artist working mainly with ethical taxidermy, whose pieces are inspired by historical eras, folklore & religious iconography.
She is a conservationist and a naturalist and upcycles & adorns found relics, crossing disciplines such as sewing, sculpture & millinery to create her delightfully macabre pieces that pay homage to the natural world. She has won the Australian Taxidermy Championships Anthropomorphic Division People’s Choice Award for
4 years in a row and her work resides on permanent display at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museums around the world, as well as in private collections. Her work has been showcased in multiple publications and there is a documentary about her and her work in the making, titled “The Life In Death”, which will be released in 2027. She has been a finalist in several Art Prizes and has been exhibiting in galleries since 2014. She is now working to preserve and adorn people’s passed pets, by request.

TSON (SC 1983) PHILIP R ROBER OBERT Based in Arthurs Seat and Melbourne, Philip has been taking landscape pictures around the Peninsula for many years. Philip recently exhibited at the Bluemoon gallery and Oak Hill in Mornington. Philip’s photos explore the evolving spectrum of light and sky against familiar local places.
Also covering events and theatre photography, Philip was a finalist in the 2012 Ballarat Biennale competition for theatre photography, and has recently exhibited landscape work at the Queensland Festival of Photography.

YUDHA SCHOLES Yudha Scholes studied Visual Arts at the University of Melbourne and has exhibited regularly since his first solo exhibition at the George Paton Gallery in 1992.

BEN SHEARER Ben Shearer started painting in watercolour towards the end of the 1970s and rapidly established himself as a leading contemporary watercolourist. He is particularly well known for his interpretations of the Australian landscape, in all its harsh beauty. Shearer’s work can appear as tapestry with a textured surface. Shearer has depicted some of Australia’s major geological features and sites sacred to indigenous Australians, particularly Uluru and Kata Tjuta in Central Australia.
His works are a celebration of the Australian landscape - the huge open expanse of a mysterious and ancient land. These paintings are also very much about light and colour - long shadows or the shade from passing clouds are the focus fro some of the works, while in others the artist/s palette has been turned up to accentuate the redness of the earth or the unforgettable vivid skies. Ben Shearer taught Art at Scotch from 1980 to 1994 and his sons Andrew and Tim left Scotch in 1983 and 1985 respectively.

ANDREW SMITH ‘80 ‘80 Andrew is an Australian artist specialising in high quality oil paintings. He is a second generation old boy of Scotch College He took art lessons while studying medicine at Monash University and for many years has painted portraits and pets mainly for family members. In 2022 he began painting professionally and he is represented by The Toowoomba Gallery. He has sold paintings at numerous art shows and has received awards at the Brookfield Art Show.
Andrew’s love for sport is evident in his subjects with tennis, cricket and football series showcasing the form and movement in action sporting scenes. He also loves the beach and sailing but his range of subjects are broad and diverse as he is always looking for something new and challenging. Andrew lives and paints in the semirural suburb of Brookfield which provides a calm and relaxing place to paint.

TRACY STRANGE Tracy Strange resides in Melbourne and Metung and works at both places. She also has a studio in Swan Street Studios Richmond.
Tracy grew up in the western districts of Victoria and the cold and Misty mornings linger in her work. She is an instinctive painter who is self taught and hard working. She works mainly in oils on canvas and wood.
Tracy has been a finalist in the Omnia Art prize and has exhibited at Project Gallery Sydney, The Moree Art Gallery NSW and Satchandco in Holbrook and has had a solo show at Cook Street Gallery in Flinders Victoria.

EDWINA THOMSON Edwina Thomson is a multidisciplinary artist based between Naarm/Melbourne and Colombo, Sri Lanka. Working across drawing, painting, textile and sculpture, she explores the emotional and physical experience of moving through landscape. Her non-representational practice is informed by walking, running and close observation, translating memory, atmosphere and sensation into layered material forms.
Thomson works with water, tracing paper, charcoal, cloth, stitching and faux fur, allowing materials to stain, buckle, shift and resist. Her process embraces chance, repetition and the physical behaviour of materials, creating works that hold traces of movement, time and place.

CATHY USATOFF Cathy Usatoff is a contemporary landscape painter. Her love of colour is paramount to her expression. Cathy has been painting the rural and coastal landscapes on the Mornington Peninsula since 2019 and regularly travels and enjoys the challenge of experiencing new ways of looking at and recording the landscape. Cathy’s interpretation of the landscape lies between observed reality and personal, expressive interpretation.
Through her eyes, Cathy invites viewers to experience rich pallets of colour that celebrate the seasonal changes and textures of the landscape in a way that feels both familiar and newly discovered. “My aim is paint the essence of the landscape and to evoke memory and a sense of character and place.”

SAMANTHA WATERS Samantha Waters is an abstract expressionist artist whose career has been shaped not by convention, but by instinct, curiosity, and a commitment to selfdirected exploration.
Forgoing traditional academic pathways, she has cultivated her practice through alternative study– drawing from lived experience, independent research, and an ongoing dialogue with material, emotion, and environment.
Samantha’s work is driven by an intuitive process, where gesture, texture, and movement become a language for expressing what sits beyond words. Layers are built and disrupted, echoing themes of tension, release, and transformation.
Each piece invites a visceral response, encouraging the viewer to connect not through narrative, but through feeling.

CHRIS WATTS Chris Watts is a Melbourne-based artist, Archibald Prize finalist and singer-songwriter whose creativity moves between music and contemporary painting. Originally emerging through music, Watts toured nationally and supported international artists including Elton John and Robbie Williams, while also directing his own music videos. His background in music continues to shape his artistic style, bringing rhythm, emotion and attitude into every piece.
Inspired by the Pop Art movement and artists such as Andy Warhol, Watts creates bold, vibrant works that explore fashion, confidence, identity and modern culture through striking colour and large-scale impact. His work blends contemporary portraiture with a playful yet expressive visual language that has become distinctly his own.

BROOKE WHELAN Brooke Whelan is a painter whose practice explores memory, identity, and the quiet beauty of domestic and rural spaces. Inspired by everyday surroundings, she captures stillness and the subtle narratives embedded within suburban life.
Her paintings depict familiar homes and environments, inviting reflection on personal connections to place, home, and community.
Combining geometric clarity with a poetic sensibility, her work offers a contemplative view of time and the resonance of the ordinary. With a focus on colour, light, and architectural form, she highlights the significance of the familiar.
Based in Beechworth, Victoria, she exhibits regularly in group and solo exhibitions.

JACKIE WINKLEMAN Jackie Winkelman is an award winning Melbourne based photographer who works commercially and as a fine art photographer.
Influenced strongly by her background in graphic design, Jackie’s photographic art is defined by a bold, stylised approach that is somewhat surreal and uniquely her own.
As a storyteller Jackie draws on various photographic elements to create pieces that capture a beauty, quirky and distinctive view of the world we live in.

PHILIP WISCHER ‘84 ‘84 Over the past 35 years, the art of Philip Wischer has consistently evolved. His early works, characterised by paintings on stretched canvas over twisted and gnarled gum branches, yielded to abstracted desert forms followed by more realistic recurring motifs including clouds, rope ladders, DNA structures and balloons. Throughout this journey, the Australian landscape and its expansive skies have remained a defining and unifying presence in his practice.
Wischer has exhibited widely, with major solo exhibitions in Tokyo and shows in New York, Cape Cod and Melbourne. His work reflects a deep and enduring connection to Australia’s natural environment.
In recent years, his focus has turned to the Cape Liptrap coastline. These works lean toward a ‘neo-romantic’ sensibility, exploring themes of place, atmosphere, awe and the sublime.

CHENXI YIN ChenXi (Robert) Yin, is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the liminality of memories, nostalgia, play, and collective realities. A current student of fine art at Monash university, Robert exercises his creative visions through an expansive array of mediums.
By creating thematically distinct pieces that establish themselves through atmospheric reconstruction of worlds, Robert continues to reflect upon echoes of his personal memories intertwined with collective nostalgia. These memories and experiences of a “past self” interacts with his current existence, instructing him to revisit faded childhood sceneries, as well as worlds that exist in imagination, yet are nonetheless interconnected to our universal reality.
