Score
Big Majestic was written for Ellen Reid SOUNDWALK, a GPS-enabled work of public art that uses music to illuminate the natural environment. SOUNDWALKs can be found in 17 parks around the world including New York, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, and Athens, Greece.
Cues and Timing
Each measure is cued by a specific instrument, marked with indications such as “Flute Cues Start.”
Within measures, entries requiring coordination are marked with instructions like “after cello ends” or “1s after flute.”
Some measures include large brackets spanning the system with durations (e.g., 10s or 30s). Where not specified, durations are determined by the length of the musical phrase.
Rhythm
Rhythms within a measure are free and not coordinated across parts.

Boxed Notation
Solid stemless noteheads are of a shorter duration than hollow stemless noteheads.
Boxed passages may be repeated ad libitum. Follow any written instructions, such as “choose between boxes.”
Amplification:
All instruments and voices must be amplified and processed with cathedral-like reverb with a long decay time, creating a rich lushness.
