PERFORMANCE NOTES

On Vibrato

As a general rule, vibrato should be left up to the discretion of the performers. However, as a nod to the performance practice of the source material, poco vibrato should be the default. Additionally, bowings are very sparsely indicated here, with the idea being that fuller bows with lighter pressure should be deployed in a way which imitates, however abstractly, vocal music.

On Sections

The double bars indicate a small lift but not a full pause between sections; more of a reset than a gap.
