Policy 615 outlines the safety standards and responsibilities involved in conducting live-fire training, ensuring all exercises meet NFPA 1403 and legal requirements. Only members who have completed Firefighter I training may participate, and a qualified safety officer must be designated for every drill The Training Officer oversees scheduling, structure safety, instructor ratios (no less than 4 instructors and a max 5:1 student ratio), and all necessary permits EMS support, proper PPE inspections, and pre-burn briefings are also required
Personnel are strongly encouraged to review Policy 615 in full to stay up to date on compliance and safety procedures for live-fire training.
