Annual Awards Breakfast: A New Tradition of Recognition
We’re excited to launch a new tradition the Annual Awards Breakfast to celebrate the outstanding service and dedication of our members Guided by Policy 1019 – Commendations and Meritorious Service, this event will recognize individuals and teams across several award categories, including Firefighter of the Year, Life Saving Award, and Company Citation.
The nomination period is open from December 1, 2025, to January 16, 2026 Members must submit a formal nomination letter on department letterhead and hand-deliver it to Deputy Chief Peacock

STATION 93 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Exciting progress continues toward the construction of Fire Station 93. The final schematic drawings have been completed, and the detailed site and building plans are now fully developed. The final deed transfer of the property has been sent for final signature, marking another major milestone in this long-term project.
With these steps finalized, preparations are underway for the next phase groundbreaking is anticipated in the first quarter of 2026 Station 93 will enhance our operational coverage, improve response times, and support the continued growth of the City of Fayetteville

Christmas Sugar Cookies
INGREDIENTS
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
1 large egg

Holiday sprinkles or colored sugar, optional
INSTRUCTIONS
1 Preheat oven to 350°F line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2 In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy
3 Beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract Mix until smooth
4 In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
5 Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until a soft dough forms
6 Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass
7 Add holiday sprinkles or colored sugar, if desired
8 Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are lightly golden Cool on a wire rack.

POLICY SPOTLIGHT: 1019 – COMMENDATIONS & MERITORIOUS SERVICE
Policy 1019 outlines the process for recognizing exceptional performance within the City of Fayetteville Fire Department through an annual awards program. Members, city employees, and citizens can submit nominations for acts of exemplary service Awards include categories such as Customer Service, Distinguished Service, Firefighter of the Year, Fire Officer of the Year, Company Citation, Life Saving, and Fire Service Commendation Nominations must include a detailed letter describing the member’s actions and impact All submissions are reviewed by a committee appointed by the Fire Chief, with awards presented annually. Personnel are encouraged to review Policy 1019 and take time to recognize the outstanding work of their peers
