The City of Fayetteville Fire Department will be conducting promotional testing for the ranks of Lieutenant, Captain, and Battalion Chief in the coming months All eligible personnel are encouraged to prepare and participate in this important opportunity for career advancement.

Additional details regarding the testing process, eligibility requirements, and key dates will be announced soon

Fire Prevention & Safety Grant

The Fire Prevention & Safety (FP&S) Grant project has been successfully completed with the installation of all 1,000 smoke alarms and 500 combination smoke/CO alarms throughout the community

At this time, the bedshaker units remain on backorder due to supply chain delays. An amendment request has been submitted to FEMA to address the delay and extend the timeline for this final component of the project

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation – Requesting funding for upgraded extrication tools to improve response to vehicle accidents

Assistance to Firefighter Grant

Congratulations to the personnel who successfully completed the Paramedic Program through Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services as part of the department’s ongoing efforts supported by the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG). Their dedication and hard work mark a significant milestone in enhancing the emergency medical capabilities of the City of Fayetteville Fire Department

Additionally, we are pleased to share that FEMA has approved an amendment to extend the grant’s period of performance. This extension will allow the remaining personnel currently attending the Paramedic Program through Fayette County Fire & Emergency Services the necessary time to complete their training These efforts continue to strengthen our department's capacity to provide advanced life support services to our community

These milestones demonstrate our department's commitment to advancing advanced life support services

Station 91 responded to a total of 204 calls for service 79 calls had a response time

than 5 minutes

Station 92 responded to 69 calls for

452 minutes Station 93 responded to a total of 85 calls for service.

59 calls had a response time greater than 5 minutes Average Response Time: 596 minutes

As we move into the final stretch of summer, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued dedication and service to the City of Fayetteville. Your commitment to excellence in all aspects of fire and emergency response, prevention, and community engagement does not go unnoticed

August is often a busy month, with extreme heat, increased call volume, and ongoing training and inspections Please remember to stay hydrated, watch out for one another, and take appropriate precautions while operating in high temperatures Your health and safety are always a top priority

POLICY 505: EMERGENCY MEDICATIONS

Policy 505 establishes clear procedures for the procurement, storage, administration, and accountability of emergency medications carried and used by the City of Fayetteville Fire Department

All department personnel are encouraged to review Policy 505 in full to ensure compliance with state regulations and department protocols.
