Summer is the perfect time for entertaining. So freshen up your outside space with a new burst of colour and revamp your pots, plants and furnishings for a brand new look. Use a bright summery colour scheme and add some fun and sparkle through colourful drinks and new cushions. Here are a few ideas to get you going...

Use Dulux® Weathershield® Matt in your chosen colour for a luxe look.
Always follow label instructions to clean and prepare the surface and apply the paint.
How to paint the circle
1. Start by using a pencil and string to create a compass and draw out the size of circle you want as your feature.
2. Cut in on the inside of the circle using a narrow brush with Dulux Weathershield
3. Then fill in the middle with a larger brush.
How to paint the rest of the walls
1. For the rest of the wall, cut in around the edges and hard to reach areas with a brush using Dulux Weathershield
2. Using an 18 nap roller, load the tray with a reasonable amount of paint.
3. Start rolling the wall in an ‘M’ pattern. Continue over the same section until the wall is evenly covered. Roll up to area of 1m2 size or paint the wall in sections.
4. Before paint starts to dry, using an unloaded roller, begin in the top left corner of your wall and gently let the roller roll down to the base in a straight line with no pressure. Repeat this action only this time, slightly overlap your last movement so your roller rubs away the line created by the previous stroke. Continue this across the area you have painted. This is called laying off.
5. Once the first coat is dry, repeat the total process again with a second coat.

Serve fruity drinks in novelty jars with lots of fruit.

Fun and interesting drinks are a great way to liven up any party, event, or even when an unexpected guest drops over.
A replenished stock of drink bases such as soda water, ginger beer and lemonade can help to bring drinks to life.
Adding herbs or seasonal fruits like raspberries and blueberries or even grapefruit can give your drink a tangy flavour and turn it a vivid pink.

Spray your pots in lively Duramax® pastels. Try Green Spruce, Green Buoy and Pompeian Pink – so easy!

Always follow label instructions to clean and prepare the surface and apply the paint.
1. Start by cutting in around the edges of the wall with a brush using Dulux Weathershield
2. For best results, begin at the top and work your way down. Paint the underside of your boards then the face. Use long strokes in horizontal motions from one side to the other.
3. Allow the first coat to dry and repeat the total process again with a second coat.
4. If painting bare timber a third coat will need to be applied.
Tip: Never stop halfway along a board and return to it later or you’ll create an overlapping of paint, which is difficult to correct.

Always follow label instructions to clean and prepare the surface and apply the paint.
1. Start by cutting in around the edges of the piece of furniture.
2. Apply paint to the surface using short, horizontal brush strokes.
3. Once you’ve completed an area, while paint is still wet, lightly smooth over the painted section with long brush strokes. Do not reload the brush when you do this, a few strokes should be enough to smooth the surface.
4. Use a roller to paint in the middle section.
5. Repeat this process until complete. Allow to dry, then give the surface a light sand with 400 grit sandpaper and repeat for a second coat.

Add some fun with bunting and garlands. Choose colours that go with the cubby.

Always follow label instructions to clean and prepare the surface and apply the paint.
1. To start, find your inspiration and select a colour from the Dulux colour range. Don’t be afraid to be bold, brightly coloured doors can breathe new life into the entrance of your home.
2. Choose a sheen level that suits your home. Semi Gloss is the perfect complement to low sheen walls, or you may look for a distinct Gloss or Low Gloss finish.
3. Using high quality painters tape, mask off the edges of the door and cover any glass with paper.
4. Make sure to stir the paint thoroughly using a flat paddle paint stirrer before getting started.
5. Using your paint brush, start filling in the front panels of the door. Then, fill in the vertical sections between the panels. Followed by the horizontal sections at the top, middle and bottom. And finally, the outside vertical panels.
6. Leave the door to dry for at least two hours before applying a second coat in the same way as the first.
7. And that’s it! Simply clean up using responsible paint disposal methods and enjoy your new look.
