Our target for school attendance is 100% A student who ends the school year on 90% attendance will have missed 4 full weeks of school. 90% over 5 years at secondary school adds up to half a school year and drops GCSE results by a full grade.

What is good attendance?

Parents/carers and students often get confused about what good attendance looks like.

Students whose attendance is 100% will be able to make the most of all the opportunities available to them.

The more you’re in school, the more you will achieve

Students who have very good attendance are more likely to gain Level 4 or above in their GCSE’s.

96-100% When attendance becomes worrying……

below 92% seriously worrying

91% - you will have missed 17 days over the year, which is 85 lessons! It also means dropping 1 grade in your GCSE’s.

Attendance Information for You and Your Family Attendance is always included in your Progress Updates - 4 times per year.

When attendance becomes seriously worrying…… 82% - you will have missed 34 days of school, which is 170 lessons! Poor attendance will have a serious impact on your education, work ethic and life chances.

Being on time and in school every day is really important for you to do well. Gaps in your attendance will mean gaps in your knowledge. When will you catch up?
